Sorry, can't help with a portable shooting bench:

Very nice. Did you cast the top yourself? Are your blocks and the top mortared or attached with construction adhesive or ???

Don't think the wind will blow it away.

I had a wood bench almost identical to the one that the op built. It had one big problem. Wasps loved to build nest in the cavity created by the top. Wasps got pretty mad when you started shooting. I removed the top, and plan to pour a concrete top.

Wasps will be wasps. Don't think concrete will scare them away?

We suffer mud dobbers here.

The construction of the wood top left them a 5 sided box. You couldn't see them and it was impossible to spray them without getting stung. A concrete top is solid. I don't think wasp will build a nest exposed on the bottom. If they do I can see the nest and spray them without getting stung.

Here is my shooting bench project. I modified some simple plans I found on the internet. I made it 48" wide vs 36" and I made it three legged vs 5 legs.

I used that internet design as well with all the legs but set them in post holes filled with concrete, it's rock solid. I added 2 short 4x4's on the front bored to fit a patio umbrella to keep the sun off my bald pate....

I shoot bench and prone. F Class dictates prone shooting.

I built this one a couple weeks ago... Now to wait until the ground thaws to bury the timbers.

I'm planning on something similar but, want to build it on a large "pallet" so I can move it with my tractor and pallet forks.

That seems like a great idea!

That is a nice looking bench. Do you have a router? A 1/4" roundover bit in a router will dress it up a little.
