I thought that L3240 had been a good deal, but this Boomer 40 is excellent! That's actually an LS R4041.... Excellent tractor.

That tractor should meet all your needs for awhile, AND it came with a 5 yr warranty, so it should still have a couple years left.

oops, just noticed that one is a shuttle, not HST

I noticed that also but its a good size tractor with good hours and price seems fair and at a NH dealer for service if needed. That GrandL is tough to match but was trying to find something little lower in price. I myself have only had the shuttle not even the hyd.shuttle but I have run a JD 5083 with it and I guess its one those things if not use to really doesn't matter if don't have it,especially coming from the gear shifts levers in between the leg tractors grew up on. If I got a new one I'm sure I would go ahead and get the power shuttle thou...

Like many of you, I don't like to put my exact location on my profile, but I live near Lake Lavon. My property is further out next to Lake Fork.

So, why not list your location as Lavon, Texas 75166 in your profile?

You now know how helpful having a finite location is for your information receivables.

The L3240 has a lot going for it, but for a little more money, another earlier poster found this gem: other than a warranty, it might as well be new. Lots of useful features, like SSQA, good loader, and all the Grand L niceties that deserve consideration.

Sorry, but what are "Grand L niceties?"

True enough, Jeff. I'm not actually in Lavon, but near the Lake. I've updated my profile.

Grand L's that have HST they are 3 Ranges with sub-range so a six speed hydro.I run mine in Medium for the most part and toggle up and down as needed.Another perk is standard extendable end links;almost a most for heavy implements, tilt wheel is also nice.

I'm out of Oakwood Texas 75855 Allen, its small town didn't figure if put it on mine folks know where it is anyways. Its close to the Palestine area if familiar.

Anyways lets get into the buddy system on a tractor. When you need it,its usually not there. Ones vision of care may not be the others. I once let the father-in-law use mine and he ended up bending the fuel tank bracket and almost punchering the tank, witch started an argument. If your going to do it then all I can say is talk about expectations, how long he gets use it,where it stays, that sort of stuff cause a friendship can go south pretty quick,if your thinking one thing and him another. I can tell you I have several friends and not a one,I trust taking the same care as I do with my tractors but I will always be there if they needed some work done.

Kubota has the HST+ with dual 3-range HST, a Hi/Lo in each range, manually toggled or auto. Depending on year, they offered that as well as auto throttle advance, which links your foot pedal to RPM's (Massey does this also, and now Kioti, JD, and Yanmar offer it in some model lines). The GrandL also has a better cruise control system, which you can adjust with the cruise lever. The HST+ also offers HST sensitivity adjustments, as well as stall-guard (supposed to keep engine from stalling under load).

Pretty much every premium tractor line now offers standard telescoping 3pt links.

Down side to the Kubota, which is completely subjective, is their HST pedal design, which is a single pedal foot rocker... I can't stand it, but some folks love it.
