I have owned four dodge diesels. I bought them for the engine and kind of tolerated the truck. Maybe the newer ones are better my most recent dodge was a 2012 but I always have thought the fit and finish of the fords and GM's was way ahead of the dodge. I am in no way brand loyal anytime I buy a new truck I drive all three before I make up my mind. I had the 2012 dodge, traded it in a ford, and now have a GMC.
I drove all of big three 2016,s Ford F-250 6.2 engine,Chevy 2500 6.0 vortex and the Dodge 2500 with the 6.4 hemi.Just liked the way dodge handled plus the interior & engine. Not brand loyal myself since 2002 1 chevy,1 dodge,2 fords and now back to dodge. All were pretty dependable trucks..

Sweet! If you are happy that is all that matters. Reliability and capability I think they are all so close it just comes down to preference. I have not been able to tell any notable difference between the three brands in the trucks I have owned.

What I don't get about the continuous flow of non-stop Ike Gauntlet truck pulls is why, I've yet to see a checker finish flag at any destination I was towing too. I'm more interested in could I hold posted speed limits, handling, stopping, and fuel economy.

To me it means a lot. Nothing more nerve racking than being able to not get up to speed and tiring to merge onto the interstate. It's also nice being able to keep up with traffic flow.

Coobie...you'll love it.

2014 2500 Mega w/ 6.4L & 3.73 w/ Rambox & rear air...she hogs out at 7620lbs at a local scale.

Took about 5 weeks from order to delivery...but we are closer to Mexico down here on the gulf coast.

I towed a 7x14 enclosed trailer with about 2500lbs of payload. Houston to Keystone (Including Ike) and mpg was low...but expected that. Day to day occasional towing and flat land no prob.

Highway mpg (75-83) I get 15.5 at its best. Mixed prob 13.5 and all city prob 10 mpg. Not diesel mpg but we didn't need an oil burner and I usually keep things a while. Fuelly has me at 13.3 mpg for 73 fill ups and about 24300 miles.

Lifetime Mopar warranty isn't avail with the CTD but is with gas. I paid about $1400 for it and no doubt it will pay for itself. Maintenance costs are fairly easy. Oil, if you follow the suggested type, is hard to find sometimes-Found it a few times on Amazon way cheaper than anywhere else and I buy a couple cases at a time.

So many gadgets and computers. I've had a few issues and recalls, but nothing too out of the ordinary for a vehicle.

It's too nice to be a truck. That's the downside for me...still not able to use it fully like a truck because the honeymoon isn't over and I don't want cosmetic damage. I should have bought a beater and a nice car...ha! We love road trips in the rig.

It doesn't like the airport garage or many confined spaces...I just plan an extra 10 mins for most commutes with unknown parking.

People all over the web complain about the stock tires. Keep them aired, rotated, and balanced and perhaps you won't see any issues...unless you plan on dumping them anyway.

My neighbor has a CCSB CTD. He needs it and knew maint would be higher for his application.

Enjoy!

Grats on the new rig. My company car is a 2016 2500 CCLB 2WD Hemi 5.7 and I really like it. My MPG is max 16 at 72 on relatively flat highway. I have been a long time CTD fan and owner with 5 12V trucks, and a brand new 2012 CCLB Cummins 6 speed. Never would have considered the Hemi but I am sold now. Not sure about the 6.4 and how it compares but I'm happy with the 5.7 so surely the 6.4 should be an improvement. Oh, and if the vibes of MDS get to you around town, leave it in tow/haul mode to keep it running on all 8 Cylinders all of the time. (the 5.7 doesn't have MDS on 3/4 ton and above trucks, FYI)

I still have a 12V in my 1987 F350 but it sits in the garage most of the time now that the Hemi is here.
