Coobie...you'll love it.
2014 2500 Mega w/ 6.4L & 3.73 w/ Rambox & rear air...she hogs out at 7620lbs at a local scale.
Took about 5 weeks from order to delivery...but we are closer to Mexico down here on the gulf coast.
I towed a 7x14 enclosed trailer with about 2500lbs of payload. Houston to Keystone (Including Ike) and mpg was low...but expected that. Day to day occasional towing and flat land no prob.
Highway mpg (75-83) I get 15.5 at its best. Mixed prob 13.5 and all city prob 10 mpg. Not diesel mpg but we didn't need an oil burner and I usually keep things a while. Fuelly has me at 13.3 mpg for 73 fill ups and about 24300 miles.
Lifetime Mopar warranty isn't avail with the CTD but is with gas. I paid about $1400 for it and no doubt it will pay for itself. Maintenance costs are fairly easy. Oil, if you follow the suggested type, is hard to find sometimes-Found it a few times on Amazon way cheaper than anywhere else and I buy a couple cases at a time.
So many gadgets and computers. I've had a few issues and recalls, but nothing too out of the ordinary for a vehicle.
It's too nice to be a truck. That's the downside for me...still not able to use it fully like a truck because the honeymoon isn't over and I don't want cosmetic damage. I should have bought a beater and a nice car...ha! We love road trips in the rig.
It doesn't like the airport garage or many confined spaces...I just plan an extra 10 mins for most commutes with unknown parking.
People all over the web complain about the stock tires. Keep them aired, rotated, and balanced and perhaps you won't see any issues...unless you plan on dumping them anyway.
My neighbor has a CCSB CTD. He needs it and knew maint would be higher for his application.
Enjoy!
