Lincoln Arc 225

Doesn't the Lincoln Arc 225 take 15-amp jumps? If so, that would drive me crazy!:confused2:
I'd contact Mark with Everlast and see what kind of a deal he can make you on a PowerArc 200ST.

That is what I would do too. I have the Everlast PA160, I sold my Lincoln AC 225 to a member here. I have not regretted doing that.

I use a 225 tombstone and am thinking about one of the Everlast welders. I don't know which one I'd like the best. What I do know is that my Lincoln's paid for. :)

The AC225 is/was a very popular machine but with machines like Everlast's at around the same price, you'd be a fool not to consider one. The Everlast will weld so much nicer and be a lot easier to use as well which is the number one consideration when choosing a machine. Then you add higher duty cycle, more choice of rods because of DC current, ability to add a TIG torch for not much money, small enough to easily move around, uses less power, etc.

If the op was in our area and wanted a nice used Lincoln AC welder for a very affordable price I would consider this

If going for a new welder-
agree with checking out a new Everlast, with a 5 year warranty, dc welding, easy to add tig , and portability what's not to like.

Well, got an E-mail from Mark.

I think I will go with the PowerArc 200ST if I can get the funding in order, waiting for a reply e-mail from him and I might be a new owner of a Everlast Power Arc 200ST!

Just ordered the PowerArc 200ST, should be here in 5-6 Business days!

Now I need to get some steel and some rods to play with and practice. I already have a hood and other tools from my little cheap welder.

What rods should I start with? Just for practice on angle iron.
