We used to have a rat terrier that loved to ride. You'd have a hard time opening a car or truck door without him beating you into it. He'd be so excited that he'd want to look out all four directions at once. It would take 25 miles before he'd settle down to just looking out one window.
And now . . . we have a female Chihuahua. She, too, wants to go, but I assume it's only to be near us. She does NOT want to be up in the seat. She wants to be in the floor, lies down with her head under the front seat; makes no difference whether she's in front of the seat or behind it. I've never seen a dog like her. She'll stay right there whether we're going one mile or 100 miles; only gets up when we stop and open a door.
