Our Border Collie Co-Pilot prefers the backseat while looking over the driver's left shoulder

Annie (Brittany Spaniel) rode in the back seat as did Maggie (Plot/Redbone mix) and Victoria (Golden Retriever). Oggie rode up front (English Pointer) Marvin rides on my lap, he's a Maine Coon Cat. All are gone now except Marvin. I sure do hope good dogs go to Heaven.

Backseat. I hate nose prints on the windshield and slobber on the seats, console and me.....

We use an AKC seat cover on the backseat. It's washable.

We used to have a rat terrier that loved to ride. You'd have a hard time opening a car or truck door without him beating you into it. He'd be so excited that he'd want to look out all four directions at once. It would take 25 miles before he'd settle down to just looking out one window.

And now . . . we have a female Chihuahua. She, too, wants to go, but I assume it's only to be near us. She does NOT want to be up in the seat. She wants to be in the floor, lies down with her head under the front seat; makes no difference whether she's in front of the seat or behind it. I've never seen a dog like her. She'll stay right there whether we're going one mile or 100 miles; only gets up when we stop and open a door.

My dog prefers the front seat, but he usually has to ride in the backseat. When he was younger he had to ride in the kennel in the back because he wouldn't behave. Now that he is older he will lay down and be good.
