In the back(under the cap) in a kennel;German Shorthair and English Pointer; I hate them short white hairs all over my truck.They are both house dogs but the OL does the vacuuming!

I used to have 2 medium sized dogs. They used to love to ride in the front seat. One time I had to stop short in traffic. One of my dogs hit the front window pretty hard. From then on they rode in the back.

Lucy is a brittany she was a pup in that pic on her ride home to her new house from the breeder.Needless to say she is very spoiled house dog.LOL

That's the safest way. My wife will either hold the smaller dogs in her lap in the front seat or sit in the back with the larger ones. I would never put them in the bed of an open truck like so many do. But then our dogs are "family" and live in our house with us.

Based on her love of riding on my RTV, I am sure that my Lab would love to ride up front with me in my pickup. However, I think it is safer for her to travel in a crate under the truck's cap. We travel in the early morning hours of the summer so that the heat isn't oppressive for her.

This thread reminds of me of something that happened quite a few years ago.We always had Labs when we were first married;my chocolate male loved to ride in the front seat right next to me.
Anyway my wife and I were out somewhere and ran into an old friend;he made the comment that its nice to see that the old love spark was still there and that it was nice to see that my wife still sat tight to me when in my truck!My wife looked at me with a funny look and then realized what was going on and said to the fellow;you better start wearing your glasses;that was his dog not me!

In the back seat, until we turn off onto the dirt road, then they like to migrate up to the front. They are both excellent riders, love long trips and mostly behave on trips.

My old cat, (deceased now) loved to ride in the front. Every week when I went to the bank he would jump in the car for the ride.

with me in the cab, either in front or in the back seat of the crew cab of the truck.....never outside or in the elements

Mine always are in the back of my toppered truck in their kennels. Much safer that way.
