Where does your dog ride in the vehicle ?

The old guy (the dog) passed last winter at just over 12.5 years. He was my between the seats dog, looking out the window making sure I was watching the road. Another one is in that place but it not the same.

sorry to hear that Al........you were blessed with a long lived one at 12.5 years.........I've lost all of mine in the 5 - 7 year range........have a male in the witching years now as he turns 7 this year.......all you can do is appreciate and love them everyday they are with you.........Jack

Our yellow lab, Blossom, rides on the seat in the "red truck" right between us with head in our lap and in the back seat of the "black car" unless only one of us is there, then in the right seat. She lies down most of the time except when we stop or change direction, No doubt that she has situational awareness and would never be lost in the local area. Smartest dog we have ever had.

We have a bull mastiff ridgeback cross. He is a beautiful intelligent dog. He would never get in a car but would cower and sneak away quietly if we asked him.
That is until we got a Pug. The Pug is mad on vehicles whether it is a UXV, tractor, car or ride-on mower. The latter 2 of course are awkward but he doesn't care. Anyway, since he started riding then the mastiff ridgey cross decided he wanted to ride as well. Now he loves going in the car and takes note of everything. Spotted his first cows not long ago and was totally entranced.
So sad they don't have longer lives....

Crystal rides in the front seat of the pick up ... shotgun when I'm alone. She loves the tool box on the gator.

I built a seat in the tractor cab for her!

Gunner enjoys the backseat. Just bought a 2015 F150 Super Crew, so now he has his own apartment in the back. We're both glad to have a truck to drive around in again. It was hard feeling manly while driving a Camry.

The neighbor is a big cattle rancher and travels far & wide checking fence lines and his cattle. His cattle dog rides on the back of his ATV and obviously enjoys it. When he comes to check on me, I can see them coming from afar and the dog is back there leaning around so he can see forward also.

Fritz got to try out the new tractor yesterday. He steers OK but he can't reach the pedals. Maybe I'll see how he does with the backhoe, no pedals needed.
