TODAYS SEAT TIME

I have a fab project in mind and a friend who welds was coming over to take a look at it. I went to fetch my aerator so it would all be handy on the driveway.
Never made it back to the driveway as I was temporarily detained. Tried to use several boards as ramps but couldn't overcome the slick conditions. It's been bare dirt here as the pines leave the soil so acidic the grass won't grow. It's funny because as I've read thousands of appends on dozens of threads, and have never seen any area on my property where I thought I'd get stuck. I have now and it sure isn't where I thought it would be. This is usually an area I consider to be part of the lawn. uploadfromtaptalk1457307141935.jpguploadfromtaptalk1457307162818.jpg
I'll leave it there day or 2 and it should dry out pretty well. I could probably tug it out with my expedition easily but it would leave some other areas with deep tracks just getting there. Better to hang my head over one mistake than 2.

Yep, turf tires turn into drag slicks in mud.

Use the loader to push or pull it out.

I started to try it. I could back up further down the hill, but there is no other exit from the area behind the tractor, so that doesn't buy me anything. Going forward there is a slight ridge to climb over where the fronts had dug down and I thought I'd be able to lift them up and pull forward with the dump, but by that time, the rears were slicks and it just started to pull the sod loose ahead of it. Better to let it dry a day or so than rip up the whole lawn.

I had to hurry, but I got the garden in shape to plant this morning before work. At least the north half. I went over it three times, but ran out of time on the south side. With the sun so low to the south, I was planning on planting the north half first anyway.

Nice Ford, grandpa has a 5030 of that same vintage that's the tractor I learned on so I have a soft spot for that style.
