Dealership keeps calling, wont come down on price

Go to Truecar.com and see what others are paying for new or used vehicle. Then browse the web site of local dealers or visits there facilities on the weekend and find the vehicle you want, then check it out thru, true car.com or negoiate with the dealer on ordering the vehicle you want at the true car.com price.

The last new vehicle I purchased, the dealer gave me an almost $6,000 rebate or price reduction for a cash sale in addition to what he had discounted the vehicle price off of the MSRP.

parking spaces are narrower than in the past . I drive a Ford excursion . Had to go to the grocery store . I found a spot and backed in like I always do . But both of the mini vans parked right on the line on either side of me . I got it in the space with barely enough room to open my door . About 10 minutes later there is an announcement looking for the owner of a black excursion . I go out to the parking lot and this woman in her late 20's is standing by her minivan . " Is this yours ? " And I say yes , did you hit it ? Now with an attitude , " How did you expect me to get into my van since you parked so close ? " So I look at the other side of her van there is a good foot . " Open that door and slide across and back out , I tell her " Now she is pissed . " Move your truck #$$@@^ " Wrong thing to say to me . " Oh by the way I have a dead battery , AAA will be here in an hour , I am going to finish getting food , dont hit my truck " I went back in the store as she was turning the air blue .

The only thing I would have added is a couple of pictures of your car with her and her license plate.

I've actually come out and found shoe prints on the side of my van with the sheet metal dented... twice in 30 years... I always park inside the lines... it is getting to be a jungle out there and one of the reasons I drove my 72 Plymouth 20 years...

Here we have the added problem of people leaving notes on your windshield asking you to think of the environment before driving your SUV or Truck... honest to gosh.

Call it a disease... Always fascinated with cars... old cars mostly with crank start and rumble seats. When I was about 10 I decided I wanted to own a car from every decade... my first car I bought at age 12 was a 1929 Model A... 50 is misleading because only 24 are insured... the rest are projects and parts vehicles. I use to keep most of the insured licensed as well... California keeps increase fees so I went Non-Op on most. Sampling by decades... 1905 Curved Dash Oldsmobile 1912 Model T Speedster 1928 Model A Roadster 1938 Bantam 1949 Plymouth 1957 Ford 1962 Corvette 1976 BMW 2002 1087 Samurai 1991 Silverado Styleside 2002 BMW 325iT 2011 Corolla S

Wow, ultrarunner, you have some absolutely gorgeous cars! Good for you!👍

I've seen the ads for Truecar.com but never been to their website. I just checked to see what my truck is selling for today. Mine is a 2012 F150 extra cab 2wd longbed with the 5.0 engine. I paid $24,000 for it at Randal Noe in Terrel TX.

Truecar has the 2016 verson for $30,648 New 216 Ford F-15 Price Quote w/ MSRP and Invoice

Randal Noe has a 2016 listed for $28,297 New 216 Ford F-15 For Sale | Terrell TX

I'm not looking, I was just curious. I've heard that priced had made a big jump recently. Randall Noe isn't a place I would recommend unless you are willing to play the game. Even with a print out of the tuck on their website, they will try to add to the price saying that the people posting it didn't know the right cost. They will then try to do fancy financing. Then push adding on extended warranties and anything else they can think of to add to the price.

I would love to find an online source that listed the BEST price where you would never see or talk to a salesperson. Just make it like buying on Amazon.

boy oh boy can i tell you some tricks. i worked at a chrysler dealer years ago. the talking to general manager trick is just one of the more experienced salesman. if they end up selling you a car, the two salesman split the commission. you never talk to the general manager unless its under extreme extenuating circumstances, usually AFTER car is sold. //
Pre internet days one tried to pull this with me and we got up, I got up with him. He was confused until I told him, "I want to talk to the decision maker." He said I couldn't do that and I headed for the door - and the decision-maker appeared as if by magic!

It got better as I decided to go back to another dealer I'd visited about an hour before. That didn't work out, either, as they'd fired him!

Now I deal strictly by email.

Have you spoken to any other dealers? For some unknown reason, every time I go to buy a vehicle, I can't get my local dealers to come down on price, but if they are an hour away, it's no problem. I'll drive an hour for a couple grand every day. Even when I show the local dealer the quote, they wont budge. I sometimes think there is some sort of rule that they cannot come any lower for local buyers.

Agreed. I drove 1 1/2 hour away and saved $5,000 on tbe identical truck locally.

Two trucks ago one dealer wouldn't budge by $1500 so I went elsewhere. Actually, I buy over the phone, confirm in person and never see anyone until I go in to pay. That seems to motivate them. So I never saw the guy and FIVE years later he still send me emails about once a month.

When I told him no deal because of price years ago I said I was going elsewhere he still kept calling. A few months later he did say he was willing to match that deal but I said too late. I don't think it's his manager saying to call and I can't think his success rate is very high but he keeps at it.

Sales guys need to keep better notes on potentially doing business with previous customers. The guy who I bought a new 2013 F150 STX from has called twice in the last month. Asking if everything is OK with the truck, call him if I ever need anything, etc.
Twice he's been told that I no longer have that truck, that it was traded in on an F250 elsewhere. Keep a file and refer to your notes, boys. Nothing shows that you don't remember me and really have no idea who you're talking to like calling over and over with the same spiel, not recalling what I'd told you on the previous call.
