I venture to say for most of us a tractor represents a huge expenditure and is not something we can expense...

We do our research and go forward with the expectation of years of reliable service.

It's not like we have a fleet of tractors to tide us over or we are large customers where the Dealer will offer a loaner to keep up the company's good name.

None the less we do expect what we paid for.

I have friend that farms thousand of acres commercially and bought a new tractor for planting... it was a new model and problems from day one... the manufacturer and the dealer made it right... he was not just a good customer... he was also past president of the local AG association...

I think all he said to the dealer was, "He was sure **** would do right by him."

Thanks. I do think the corporate and the dealer are working with me... but it's time to do address the MANUFACTURER'S DUTY TO REFUND OR REPLACE. ...and avoid courts.

Thank you. That affirms my desire to proceed and confirms the correctness to do so. I try to discern the correct way, and not just act foolishly. In this circumstance, I have no choice but to see it through and accept the outcome. Thanks for the response.

Yes, My vendor is good. This is a rural area and we are all members of the community. I am sure ***** wants this to be correctly resolved.

So far... I have never needed a lawyer to resolve any consumer issue.

It has been more a matter of getting to the right people and properly conveying the situation... it helps if you can be firm in your resolve and professional.

It is customary with vehicles to make a deduction for usage... also, everything I have posted is predicated proper operation and maintenance has been followed.

Have you decided on a buy back or replacement or something other?

I agree and have also never used a lawyer for any consumer issue. Yes the tractor is well cared for; even garaged. Maintenance schedules have been followed and exceeded. The tractor has more hours shop time operational time. Both the vendor and I have tried to resolve the operational issue.

Going "geeky" again. AF had codes for reporting maintenance. # 242 Failed to Operate - Specific Reason Unknown was the worst. What it meant was there was a big enough fail but you couldn't identify why. OK once, but 4 times or more, you had some BIG EXPLAINING. Quality control was all over you, the chief of maintenance, and the commander. The tech manager was also AF, so we understand.
Nobody is going to gain...but the mission (reason I bought the tractor in the first place) impacted and cannot be aborted. My place is small, but I work it.

BLUF: resolve at the lowest level. But get it done!
