Personally I like 45lc ballistics vs either 3 pellet buck, or slug in a .410

I feel pretty much the same way. i know there are a lot of guys on here that have the .410 handguns, and like them, but they just seem so big for the application and the results to me. If you like .45LC you can get smaller lighter guns to shoot it in. For example a Ruger Red Hawk. I have one of those in .44 magnum and I sure would not swap it for any of the .410 handguns. But different strokes for different folks. You like what you like.:)

Heck, I wouldn't swap my pythons for judges.

I do have a circuit judge (carbine) just because.. But it doesn't see much action.

Its a poor shotgun, a weak rifle, and a hard to maneuver revolver.

I would be happy to buy you a brand new Judge, and drive it down to Florida if you would swap me a Python for it.:D I am thinking you ain't gonna take me up on this offer.

The Circuit Judge seemed like a neat/fun idea, but kind of lacks a real role, other than a plinker.

What I would love to see are some affordable over-unders, in say .410/.22WMR; 20ga/30-30 or similar. They exist, but all seem to be expensive

I enjoy my Judge with the 3" barrel. I keep #4 birdshot and .45lc in it, alternating. The shot for snakes and the .45 for anything else. I can tell you that #4 shot will take down a hog at 2' away, I had to do that a few weeks back. The Judge is my carry pistol on the property and it is invaluable to me.

Yup :).

I'd be hard pressed to let a snake go !

I see the CJ as kind of a camp gun I guess. Like a marlin carbine... But a hair more versatile, if slower to reload.

I bought a S&W Governor a few days ago. I took it to the ranch and shot it with .45LC, .410 #4, and .410 buckshot. I was shooting a cut open feed sack at about 40'. The LC's were dead on. The buckshot was dead on with about a 4-6" spread. The #4's were all over the the place. I decided the #4's would only be used for very close-up shots (say less than 20') at something like a snake. For personal defense I will have it loaded with alternate .45LC and buck.
I was impressed with the buckshot. Three large holes within 4-6" with one shot makes for an impressive deterrent. Figure at 2-10' the pattern would close up significantly.
BTW the difference between the Governor and Tarus Judge is that the Governor has six rounds vs five for the Judge, and the Governor will shoot .45 ACP with the use of a clip. I like that feature because I have a bunch of .45 ACP rounds that I shoot in my "Tommy Gun".

Does it have enough headspace to shoot 45AR ?
