Home sweet home. It's been one **** of a day, but I made it. Hopefully I'll have the intestinal fortitude to ignore my ego and share my mistake so it will potentially save at least one person from make the same one.

Thanks to everyone for your help, encouragement and input. I really appreciate it! And for some reason you see this Gerald, thanks a lot for letting me borrow your trailer and making me feel better after making a mistake.

It's my diamond in the rough. Starter looks new and filter look like they have been changed in my lifetime. Lol! Battery also looks fairly new though it isn't a 4dlt. It has a block heater which is kind of nice. Pto and hydraulics seem to work the the lift arms did not lower except when pushed down with a little force. That is to be expected since it missing all the 3 pt hitch stuff that would create some downward force. I couldn't move the flow control dial but that's probably because the 3 pt hasn't been used in years. The is thing was just used to toat a dump trailer at the cemetery hence the goofy hitch setup. I hope it turns out to be a good one. So far so good.

Glad you made it home, even with a "mistake". :)

I'll try to take some pics of the 3pt setup on mine so you can figure out what you are missing. My flow control dial was stuck too. Just took some piddling with it to free it up.

Thanks man, I really appreciate the kind words. It was definitely a learning experience.

I remember my 2600's flow control valve being real tight too after it had sat for a few years. It moves much more easily now after moving it through its full range of motion a number of times.

The pictures would be much appreciated. I hope to try and pull some of the parts off of the 2600 this weekend and check fitment. I'm pretty sure the drawbar attachment plate should fit. I don't really use my drawbar much so I may just leave it on the other tractor until I have a need for it.

I'm going to go through and change all of the fluids and filters too. I've got a couple bottles of the coolant additive and test strip that might still be good. I wish I could just run elc coolant like I switched to in the truck but I have a feeling it probably isn't compatible. Need to look into it though.

Btw, what year is your SD? I have an 02 with the ZF6. It did pretty good yesterday considering it has fairly leaky up-pipes. I have the bellowed style that I need to install one of the weekends when I put my ebpv delete pedestal in. It will probably be a totally different truck after that. How does your truck do towing both tractors on that GN trailer?

After doing a little searching on the Internet, I think the only thing I will need to buy right away is the top link bracket and some pins/bolts. I think everything from the 2600 will swap over. That would be nice.

If I buy a part or two every paycheck I should be able to replace everything that I steal from the other tractor in no time.

Here's a pic that might help. I thought I posted it to your thread last night, but I mistakenly posted it to a Ford 5000 thread...... Busch Lite.....

Congrats on your 3910. You are going to really like that tractor. Parts are readily available and those units as you know are in high demand. Ford did a really good job with that series of tractors.

I picked up an 83 4610 last year in June and have really enjoyed running it the past 9 months. I spend some $$$ on mine putting on front weights and bracket, ROPS, rear remotes, etc...but I feel that it was well worth it. Keep us updated with your progress.

Busch Lite will do that! Lol! Thanks for the nice pic, that will help a lot.

*Edit*

Are those slide out rims? Have you ever adjusted them and how easy it to do? That really is one sweet tractor.

Thanks! I just knew it wasn't going to last long once the right person saw it. He had it listed in such a way that it would not come up if you did a simple tractor or ford tractor search. I think that along with the cosmetic issues were why it was still available.

I bet that 4610 is pretty sweet. Once I'm in the market for a loader tractor, I'm going to look for 46xx fwd. For what I do around here, it would be the last tractor I would ever need to buy.

I would love to see a pic of your 4610, if you have one. Feel free to post it in this thread.
