I bet there is a dye that could turn red to another color... or just have a 5 gallon of red Marvel Mystery Oil in the bed?

I'm not technically qualified to answer that. I don't know if the swab is just looking for color or if it reacts chemically.

I'm thinking you better get pictures of the policeman holding your can of Mystery Oil and a written statement saying it was found in the back of the truck when you go to court.

My Uncle got cited for fireworks... not suppose to have them... it was on the 4th of July and kids had firecrackers and sparklers... some are sold legally in the county... not allowed to even possess the city.

He fought it and won... gave the court a laugh and enjoyed doing it.

He went to Court with a blow up of the local newspaper story saying Mayor and Council celebrating the 4th and in the picture they were holding Sparklers...

My uncle said Judge... I fully admit we were celebrating the 4th with Sparklers just as our city leaders were doing and here is the Newspaper picture and stories offered as proof.

My Uncle's point was if he was going to be fined... so should the city council and Mayor... case dismissed.

I wonder how many actually contest being dipped or the findings?

It still requires a ruling unless you aquiesse...

Same in Illinois . And the Bureau of Weight and Measurement can and will stick your tank anytime , anywhere .

They will enforce the dyed fuel law in Illinois but won't enforce the firewood law. It is illegal to sell firewood in the state of Illinois by the load, rick, stick or bundle. Must be sold as cord or parts of cords only.
