I have a guy hauling gravel in today to freshen up my part of the lane we use to get in. It has been 12 years since I had the lane built. He is charging $14.25 per Ton delivered and spread. Tail gated. What we cal CA6 gravel here. Standard road mix.
I need to get 140 tons to do just my part of the drive. Gravel at the pit 22 miles away is at $6.50 a ton before tax and about $6.85 after tax, so the guy is charging roughly $ 9.40 to deliver.
Just wondering what others have to pay for gravel in their area.

Around $100 an hr. sounds about right for delivery . I pay $6.95 a m ton + tax for 3/4" road crush and charge $100 ph for delivery . I've never tried to work out delivery by the ton.

By the ton is the way most do it here for Gravel and dirt. When I had the drive built they did charge $100 per hour to have a truck here on the job all day.

I bought road base, ie, ABC gravel, a decade or so back. I can't remember the price of gravel but a double axle truck hauling 15-16,000 pounds cost $75 an hour. This was when fuel prices were very high and the trucking cost before the fuel price increase was $50-65 an hour.

Given than fuel prices have dropped I would expect the delivery costs would have gone down but I have not checked prices. I DO need some ABC delivered....

Later,
Dan

ALL the quarries here were bought out by Aggregates USA, and they have a monopoly. We pay $16-18 ton for crushed limestone (varies slightly by grades) plus delivery. I use a retired guy with a truck that hauls me 19-20 ton load for 100 bucks.

$415 for 22 tons. Robbery. Fortunately, I can scoop rocks out of my creek bed which is one of the reasons I bought a tractor in the first place.

$325 delivered and spread for 20 ton is what we pay. I hope to see apples to apples 3/4" road mix compaired here.
