I am done with the ladder/bucket stuff. I will be more careful as the red head threatened to take away the keys if I don't. I thought I was 16 and in trouble...there for a minute. On a funny, I have a buddy I work with that was up in the loader bucket fixing something at the eaves of the house. Perfectly safe environment as his son was home and in ear shot if he needed him. The only problem was....the goat. His son had (notice I said "had") this goat that would get into any and everything! Well the goat decided to get up on the tractor seat and start mouthing the loader control. Of course the loader started moving and buddy turned around to see the goat about to drop him on his head. He yelled and son came out to save him. That goat was something else. Completely ate a recliner the guy had on his covered porch to sit in the evening. I mean ate the whole dang thing. His son finally managed to give the goat away. He's told me some more stories about the goat...man, that goat was something else.

I don't know for sure, but I think the ladder/loader bucket combo is less dangerous than the chainsaw/ladder combo. The chainsaw/ladder/loader bucket trifecta is asking for it!

I think ladder/bucket combo is perfectly safe. I have also put ladders in a pickup truck bed. I mean how else could I get on the roof with only a 6' ladder? Height permitting I'll just use a pallet on the pallet forks. I have never used it, but the loader does have a lock out lever. I think ladder/chainsaw with or without the bucket is a terrible idea.

Yeah, I clean my gutters in my front loader bucket. Way more convenient than a ladder.
Anything that holds a ladder stable is good.

If you have a second operator you can just drive along and clean out the gutters. Way faster and IMO equally as safe as a ladder.

I have done it quite few times while installing/fixing outside lights on our house. I did it only once or twice cutting branches and figured that it was not the safest thing to do. Standing the ladder in the bucket is way safer than on soft ground. Guess what I got for Christmas from my wife? Little Giant SkyScraper Ladder | Type 1A | Skyscraper MXZ Ladders. My life insurance is not worth much. Makes me wonder what her intention is. Well the description says it is safest ladder on the world. :duh:

Dad used to make those back in the 70s, we still have a blem that he bought when he worked at the factory (what is now called a "Classic 22"). IIRC, the hinge latches were replaced because the spring broke, but otherwise its all original.
He said that they used to "test" the ladders by stretching them out straight at full extension (like a extension ladder), putting both ends on a frame so it sat up in the air (fort of like a----a where the "a" is the frame at each and and "----" is the ladder) and seeing how many guys they could pile on the ladder before they broke. IIRC setup like that the 22' ladder could handle 4-5 guys standing/sitting in the middle.

I have had a 23 ft Little giant for 20+ years and love it - but it is heavy. How heavy is one of these?
