I apologize in advance if I am just repeating something posted earlier, but if TYM tractors are in the final consideration, how about Cabela's??

I liked the Cabela's tractors more than the TYM mostly for their paint jobs. Since they are getting out of the tractor business, I expected them to give me a better deal than the TYM equivalent, however the Cabela's salesman only offered to meet their price (not beat it). Also, the "Cabela's by Woods" loader for the LM36H tractor was not as strong as the TYM.

Hey guys. I'm back again. I'm about a week away from buying a TYM354HST when I started getting worried about the potential for wasps and bees when clearing my land. Also, Texas has some brutal summers and A/C would be nice. So, this has all got me thinking about a tractor with a cab. They are all about $10K over my budget, but I think I can finance it.

If I stayed with TYM, I'd have to move up to the T554HST Cab (just under $30K). This is a beast of a tractor and I don't know if I should get one this big.

I called the Mahindra dealer and he says he has a 2538 with cab for just under $28K. Another thread on T-B-N says that the 2538 is just a repackaged TYM354.

Are there any other cabbed tractors under $30K that I should be considering?

TYM T454 has a cab with air and heat for a little less than the T554. They make a cab for the T354 but has only heat no ac. Yes the Mahindra 25xx series are rebadged TYM's with mahindra engines in them and mahindra loaders.

My dealer says he doesn't even stock the T454 since the T554 is only something like $400 more.

Also, a 20HP jump for a cab seems a little over the top. I've lived in TX, and know full well how the heat and critters are, but still...

However, it's your money, if you think it's worth it go for it. I forget the details of your situation, but if space is not a problem, the extra HP can't hurt (except the wallet).

Be careful, a lot of cabs for 35HP - 40HP tractors only come with heat, especially it they're not factory. I'd make sure that Mahindra has AC.

I fully agree. When I saw the 55hp in person, I thought this thing is way more than I need. When I started researching tractors a few months ago, I thought 30hp was way more than I need. T-B-N users convinced me otherwise.

So, now I'm looking for a cab. I spoke to a few dealers and they didn't recommend a cab with A/C under 40HP here in Texas. That's the reason for going with 40hp+ vs. an LS3135HC or equivalent. The 40hp tractors from LS and Branson were about $1000 - $1500 less than the 55hp TYM. For that extra cash, the TYM has a 2478 lb lift capacity and an 4938 lb breakout force at ground level.

Anyone have a guest house I could stay in for a few weeks? I haven't told my DW about this yet.

The strategy is not to tell her, act like that was the tractor that was originally planned. Of course if she is in on the money side (mine isn't) it's a lot harder.

I went to visit my new baby today at the dealership. The EA grapple is already attached and looks awesome. I should be able to take her home in the next week or so.
