How often does your tractor Regen?

When I work it hard it will regen every 25 hours or so. Just dubbing around it will want to clear its throat every 15 hours or so.

Here is the regens for my tractor:

DateHoursElapsed
01-17-1516.016.0
02-28-1528.812.8
03-29-1540.011.2
05-05-1553.113.1
07-14-1568.615.5
10-24-1581.512.9

do you let your tractor idle alot?
I have had one regen and am at 61 hours now
my tractor at work has had 2 at 90 hours
both are l3301

On my 3301 I had the first regen at 15 hours and the second at 49 hours. When the second ne happened I was plowing snow and I did not even know it was in the regen mode until I saw the light flashing. I usually run mine around 2000 rpms and when I can I open it right up

Only about 14 hrs on my 5460 and DPF reading about 55% (?full).

Most people have commented on hrs to regeneration, anyone noticed what % their DPF was before regeneration triggered?

Thanks

My MX5200 seems to want to regen after burning 1/2-2/3 of a tank of fuel. Only had 2 one at 7.3 hours while mowing and moving gravel. The other at 27.6 hours after a lot of idling. I'm above 35 hours now. Both used about that much fuel. I don't run my tanks real low unless I'm running a tank a day. I'll refuel before a quarter of a tank.

I wish the L3901 had a way to display the percentage, but all we get is an hour meter. I think it will also display error codes.

Second time for regen yesterday for my 2015 L3301/HST.
1. 15.1 hours
2. 29 hours

This tells me to quit babying it I guess but according to manual don't run it hard for first 50 hours.

2. 29 hours
3. 59 hours

I also have 2015 l3301 have 145 hours and averages 21 hours per regen. I don't idle usally run 2200-2600rpm.

My 3901 has 84 hrs on it now and has yet to light the regen light. The lights come on when I crank the tractor so I know they are working. Had it in for service at 75 hrs and had them check it out. They claim everything is working as it should. 75% of the hours on my tractor are running a 7' finish mower so I guess the tractor is working hard enough to not need to regen. Hope so anyways

I have 175 hours on my Kioti, I think it has done 3 for sure maybe 4 regens. I did have about 100 hours of a lot of idling while building a barn. Other than that it's field work with the RPM's over 2000.

For people who have said running the engine slow requires more frequent regens - Monday we unloaded several 3,000 pounds totes of fertilizer, moved several other tires around in the machine shed to make room, and loaded a JJ 6 row planter wedged in back of the machine shed. My DPF plugged percentage was 50% when we started and 54% when we finished, 4% plugging in 4 hours which calculates out to 100 hours to regen. The fewest hours I have recorded under heavy load was 18 hours steady pulling a disk at 90%+ power. My Kubota went like I expected after spending so many hours helping develop Tiers 1 through 4 interim. I've found particulates very load at low load with a CRS. No doubt when it comes time to regen you need speed and heat but unlike someone said, DPFs don't plug faster at low power, at least on my Kubota. Quite the inverse.

MHarry. I must agree with you. I believe that regens are based on amount of fuel burned. If it takes 10 hours of PTO speed or 30 hours of low speed. It's got to burn fuel to create soot.

Now during winter when you struggle to reach operating temperature then I think the argument has more merit, but you will still have to burn X amount of fuel to create enough soot to stop up a filter.

I'm at 44 hours and still expecting first regen. 95% of work at PTO speed.

This doesn't necessarily refute your point but might...

I think you calculated your estimated regin time interval to 100% (now at 54%). I'm sure it won't go to 100% before regenerating. Maybe 75% plugged? Don't know but certainly could turn your numbers on their head. :confused3:

Regen is at 100%. 100% does not mean 100% plugged, rather 100% of whatever parameters Kubota uses to determine it is regen time. Doing the same type work, the increase is fairly linear - I record the hours operated, fuel consumed, and DPF percentage at the end of every day and keep it on a spreadsheet along with the type of work I was doing. I like to know what the operating cost per hour is for every type of operation whether it be chopping haylage, plowing, disking, gathering bales, etc. As long as I am recording that information, I also record the DPF percentage just for my information.

I have spent 700 hours in that tractor now and have a pretty good idea of what type operation increases the number quickly and when it increases slowly. Low power, low speed, and not a lot of engine speed change = slow percentage increase. Moving large bales where I tend to slow down when I spear the bale, then accelerate to top end to move to the next bale and spear it, then accelerate to the edge of the field to drop = highest rate of percentage increase. It's pretty well explained by my L5740 and the burst of exhaust smoke with every engine speed acceleration - only instead of the black smoke I get on the L5740 the DPF collects the soot on the M135GX. I can reduce the rate the percentage increases by accelerating slowly, but why? My operator's manual says to have the DPF cleaned at 5,000 hours. I'm 70, I'll be dead or in a nursing home by that time.
