I could only watch that screw spliter for a couple min. before my back started hurting, my shoulder were getting sore from yanking the wood apart, but the concept is better then a splitting by ax or maul, maybe an over and under screw would be better, and then how does one stop it when clothing is caught in the pto or screw.

I never did care for tug of war with equipment idea, and people say I abuse my tractor, at-least I'm accomplishing something when I get logs out that are to big for my tractor.
I go to these fair grounds and they have these atv-tractor pulls, pulling a sled down a track as the weight slide's forward, doesn't prove a thing except who has the biggest tractor biggest motor, and the most money. I suppose you do get an idea of which tire's are the best on packed dirt.
But show me something that can haul the most 4' fire wood on trailer, over the roughest ground at the slowest speed, then you have my attention.

Speaking of tractor tugs of war. This one was expensive.
JD vs Oliver. JD wins. A lot of superfluous footage but the results were interesting.

At least the American redneck boys know to keep that chain down low near the axle.

Stories involving Tannerite, huh?? Two years ago, in July, the only wildfire to ever come thru this area was started by to two idiots shooting tannerite targets.

Fortunately, no structures were burned - just a lot of grassland, pine forrest and first cut hay. A lot of taxpayer money was spent and the two idiots were caught but will never be able to pay the bill for the containment. The fire was stopped by several local farmers and their large equipment. All the available fire fighting equipment was already committed to other fires.

Watermelon Hill wildfire - 13,000+ acres burned.
There had to be more than tannerite. While tannerite is explosive, it's not what I would called incendiary. I've used a lot of Tannerite and on dry grass surfaces, old wood stumps, thicket, cars, mopeds, refrigerators, pumpkins, this list could go on for a while... Never have I had it cause ignition to start a significant fire. Granted I almost always have an extinguisher with me, but never once have we started a fire.
I think the safety police all quit their jobs after they saw this guy splitting wood with his homemade log splitter. I know the screw drive splitters are not very popular (and for good reason), but this guy takes the risk to a new level, imo. He has it situated about 2ft off the ground, and so he's literally standing over it while pushing the rounds into the screw. Plus, there is no cover on the rotating PTO shaft. I just see a trip to the ER in his future, if not the morgue. If nothing else, working at that height would kill my back in about 5 minutes! Your thoughts?

Other than PTO shaft not covered (I'm also guilty of this, but NEVER am near it running... Ever) I don't see this as being "unsafe." Dangerous, yes, but unsafe, no. Working around powerful equipment is inherently dangerous and having worked in a sheet metal shop, I've seen far worse.

We'll that was 5 min. of fun, now I work my tractor to limits a lot, but no way would I do that, I'd rather play tug of war with a log. But if people want to abuse their tractor like that and put it on video, I'll watch it, although rescuing that broken tractor might be more interesting to watch.

Yeah the recovery and subsequent repair was not going to be a whole lot of fun... Plus, just what "boneyard" are you going to find an axle for that particular Oliver in... I am sure they are around, but you might have to do some searching.

I would say the red tractor won.

Almost like the red tractor wanted to make double sure that he won with no excuse from the looser, a good story he can tell his grand kids like, We'll kids, back in the day I hauled my load mouth's neighbor tractor right over backwards...................
