servicing Dk35 today
changed fuel filter, cleaned bowl, reinstalled.
was pretty nasty, this is the 'clear' bowl and I could not see any cracks

I had shut off petcock, after install i turned the petcock to 'air'... no flow.

started tractor and it was slowly filling the bowl.. until the engine stopped.... and the bowl was about full.......
and i see no leaks

now can't get it going again...

multiple attempts, not hitting a lick.. bowl does see full now.

need more time??
whaz next?

thanks.

Look in your manual, most likely will have to crack the injector lines now to let air escape as you crank engine. when fuel starts to come out, stop cranking and tighten injector line nut. You could have avoided all of this by filling the bowl half full of fuel before screwing it on. Look on page 7-32 of the owners manual. It says to start with the bleeding bolt on the injector pump, then crack 1 or 2 of the fuel lines and crank for now more than 10 seconds at a time (to keep from overheating starter motor) until non frothy fuel starts to squirt out. Don't get your hand near the fuel escape point.

Thank you for the assistance.
to follow up...
yes, it required cracking the lines at the injectors... and time... extra insurance was to charge the battery overnight (trickle charge)

I do not recall seeing this procedure in the manual I have... in regards to a bleed procedure.

I did find the "bleeding bolt" ... for other's benefit it is a knurled knob on the banjo fitting where the line attaches to the pump from the filter.

Hindsight is perfect..and won't make the mistake of not pre-filling the bowl somehow.. just know I won't let the next filter go so long..
Don't know how it even ran with that filter in it.

Was 'happy' when it immediately started after filter install.... but

Sure was a sad feeling watching that bowl slowly fill up and it not be full when the engine stopped... :(

Ran it for a few minutes with the petcock on 'air' and then moved to 'on'.... did not run as rough as i expected....

Fuel lines not the 'easiest' thing to get to either....

Onward with spring chores with this machine.....
