62 this morning and headed to 81. .92 inches of rain yesterday evening. NWS did confirm an EF-1 yesterday in Evansville, IN. About 1 1/2-2 hours away. Today they'll have more to investigate. There is damage west and northeast of me.

As for plans for today. Think I'm going to be in the chicken coops. Although I need to run and borrow a trailer for a trip tomorrow.

David. Hope dogs better.

Ron. It's always good to be home.

Good morning! 67˚ light fog. It got to 92˚ yesterday when mowing the yard and for the first time this year I was attacked by mosquitos but only by the front gate not by the house. The vegetation is different in the black land than the sandy land on the hill. There are thousands of water puddles in every low spot in the blackland that would normally dry in a few days but it keeps raining every few days. Another storm is headed here tomorrow.

We are in the Low area for Zika.

Eric, good arrow story.

I figured out the vegetation that is keeping the mosquitos away from the house in the sand land - HORSEMINT

It has the same smell and effect on mosquitos as citronella. It is a common "weed" around the house that has now gained a new status.

Internet back up and running ... at least for the moment. The tech has me temporarily hooked up on a good pair for the time being, until another tech can make a permanent repair.

Spoke with the Assistant (Jennifer Watson) to the Lead Prosecutor for Summit County (Brad Guessner) yesterday and she wanted me to leave a message for her boss, so she was going to transfer me to his voicemail and he actually picked when she transferred the call. Spent a little time talking to him, no promises ... other than to check into the possibility of reclassifying Seth for extradition.

I also mentioned the federal felony aspect, and he said that he'd never seen the Feds prosecute anyone for it for the 30-some years he's been a prosecutor. That's another aspect to creating a nation of scofflaws, in addition to disrespect for the judiciary: create a law and then don't bother to enforce it.

Gave me the name the local US Attorney and wished me good luck in getting him to return my call.

No call back from Hernando County Deputy Belfry, just called and asked Dispatch to pass another message to him and suggested she really might want to have me give him a call ... since I ain't going away ... :D

Need to find out what Seth's disposition will be if Monroe County (or anyone else) doesn't extradite him and he can't bond out ... got to figure they won't keep locked up forever.

Managed to finally get the Weather Pack connector installed yesterday ... then promptly went out and got the tractor stuck in the mud.

Not only that, while I was trying to unstick it by using sticking the lower rake teeth in the ground and curling back, I managed to unhook one side of the grapple and tweak the SSQA a little.

Fortunately I was able to chain it up and my neighbor was out on his JD getting some topsoil for his wife and he came down and gave me that little extra pull that I needed to get unstuck.

Turned out that the SSQA wasn't so badly tweaked that I couldn't remount the grapple and use it (away from the mud ...) ... but it's going to need some work to get it back to where it fits really securely. Best news out of that whole deal: no welds broke ... :D

Took down two more trees (one ash, one poplar) in the area I'm clearing.

Frustrating day to be sure.
