47F with fog @ 11:00, calling for clouds and a high of 55F for the day. Low this morning was 34.3F.
Got cleaned up and shaved first thing yesterday.
Amazon delivered our dishwasher detergent which is on subscription.
Then headed down to the basement to get back at it.
Successfully de-soldered old water line that went to the softener. Decided to just leave it off and not cap it, just to minimize work. Stuck a bucket under it to catch the drip, drip, drip ...
Moved 4' section of stud wall into place and got it plumb and nailed the top plate to the floor joists. Then broke out the new Tapcon T22 and fired a couple of nails into the bottom plate to secure it to the concrete floor.
Was kind of a tight squeeze with the well pressure tank still in it's original location:
With that done I re-soldered the old water pipe for the softener back into place. Sealed up without using additional solder ...
By that time Woman had arrived home with chow so I took a break to go eat.
After dinner headed back down and resurrected a partially used can of Great Stuff expanding foam (dated 2017 ...

) by using a drill bit to clean out the hardened foam in the dispensing tube ... and then used that to seal the gap in the foam at the corner where the south and west walls come together which would inaccessible once the south stud wall was put into place.
Also sealed up a gap at the other end of the south wall between the last two pieces of foam board.
Once that was done I started nailing the 8' section of studs together for the south wall ... which was complicated by only having about 9' of clear floor space to work in. Nonetheless managed to get that nailed up enough to raise it and mostly move it into place:
Will need some additional toe-nailing and tweaking with the hand sledge to get things flush and plumb ... once I go out and get it from the storage box in garden.
Once that's done I'll get it nailed to the joist on top and the concrete floor on the bottom.
Then onto finishing up the studs for the rest of the south wall.
After that I'll start drilling the holes for the electrical wire and placing boxes for outlets.
Did not get the battery charger put on the Cub yesterday so that's the first thing on the agenda for today.
Beyond the above just see what else comes up.
Hope everyone is having a decent Saturday ...
