2015 John Deere 5115M, 1928 and 1945 hand start John Deere D's,
I have always found a flexible hose to be more convenient for greasing the greatest variety of equipment and situations. I have a couple nipples that are a pain in the butt. One is the u-joint at the back of the motor on my FIL's JD 1025R. It is through a small hole in the frame and then up about 3 inches and the other is the u-joints off the transfer case on my pickup, one is right over top of the transmission cooler lines and they get in the way. I had a couple leftover fixed couplers from other grease guns and added in a couple nipples. Looking forward to using my "extensions" to hit these problem ones this spring with way less aggravation.

So you 're connected to two zerks in series. I never thought of doing it like that. For the difficult to get at fittings on my combine I screwed a flexible hose onto the end of the solid tube of a pistol grip gun. It took one hand to hold the fitting on the zerk and one to squeeze the lever.

I was just thinking that doing it backwards from you. Put a flexible hose hose on the gun and then the solid tube. Might try it. Ed

I use a lever gun with a hose and needed an extension to use on the TORO. So I made one from the tube that I removed from the lever gun.

The LockNLube coupler hasn't been mentioned recently, here is the link for those that don't know about it: locknlube | grease gun coupler ends greasing frustration

Xfax that is same principle exactly, I figured I didn't invent anything. Got to use mine the other day and it worked well. Did end up with some grease in the palm of my hand, still better than blocking the sight lines in the ujoint. That lock n lube coupler looks like the perfect solution. Thanks!

We have found that the lock n lube cut our frustration and time used to lube significantly.

Way more than worth the price!

Ed,
Your method would probably work better because it would give you something better to hold on to than a flexible hose. It's been a long time and I may have eventually switched mine around like that. If I didn't I should have.
