how much will a 6 foot bush hog weigh? 600 lbs?

What an ordeal.

6' hogs can very just depend on how stout its made.

Light duty ones....~600#, Med duty ones ~800#, true HD 6' cutters can be ~1500#+

Unhook the brush hog first and drag it back out of the way.

Good luck and pictures please.

We got a call about 3 pm yesterday while doing Mothers day stuff, and no one had heard from his father since he left at 6 am...so he was heading out to find him, I said "okay" and we headed back home pulling an empty trailer :(

Monday:

I just got a text and apparently the bush hog is on the back of his fathers tractor and it is stuck somewhere on Roan mnt, and wants to know if we could help him get it out...and no cell service up there (I know that is true)

Waiting on pictures...

This may end up being the longest I just bought something and have never seen it Thread

I will update...

ETA

Okay appears to be a Ford 3500 ~ 5000 lbs and it's buried pretty good so probably close to 7500 lbs, so a 9000 lb winch, snatch block some chains and a couple blankets to throw over lines and a tree strap to anchor my truck from the rear to a tree...should be fun :D

how much will a 6 foot bush hog weigh? 600 lbs?

That winch may be right at its limits.
That stuck factor will multiply the force necessary.
Also. Whatever is holding that snatch block in place will be exposed to the whole load not only the half on each fall line on a 2:1 setup.

Please see below. (If I did it right)

Thanks, I have that one (well, older version) brought back memories ;)

I had just got off active duty (E5) and joined the local Guard unit; 1st AT I was driving for the 4th Platoon Sgt (E6), he said "Bansil, drive through there" my response was "Sgt, where flowers go, tanks don't go"

"&%$#^@ DRIVE" :confused3:

As the tank made a squishing/sucking noise, it stopped...I let it cool down and shut her off, I climbed out of my hole and stepped down 12" from the front slope to the ground and shook my head and wander off a little bit to gain composer

When I got back to the tank the gunner was on front slope, white t-shirt, dew rag and was "tossing bones"

:confused2:

He looked up after staring at his collection of things spread out on tank and matter of factually just said "We are ---- ed!"

I was pissed because as driver the repairs and cleaning were my job

I said "No S--t!....idiots!..I told you...that was a bad idea... idiots!..." lit a smoke, grabbed canteen and took a walk

Apparently this is what they did, they broke down or got stuck and would camp for a week doing nothing...(they had a grill, chairs, hammocks, cooler and beer)

I ended up with another tank and left them out there for the M88 and Top to mess with

Sorry for hyjacking my own thread

NO pictures yet...:(

I will ride this out just because it is too good to be true :D

Almost the right answer. Unhook brush hog, load on trailer, drive away, let guy figure out how to get his tractor out of the mud...

Tell him you forgot the keys to the winch. And the Wench doesn't know where they are.:)

 After it's on the trailer, tell him you'll be right back. Then just use all his excuses as to why this weekend isn't good.

You're almost a month into this and you still don't know what you bought? People like this guy p*ss me off.
Now you're suppose to pull his tractor out of the mud for the privilege of buying this piece of equipment of unknown condition?
If his old man gets stuck with this bush hog that's "too small:, just think what he'll do with a bigger one.

I hope he doesn't have your money, because you should run, don't walk, away....

If he does have your money you should be charging him rental fees.

If he doesn't have your money, right when your about to hook the chain on his stuck tractor would be a good time to say "Now that I've taken a closer look at the bush hog, I'm not so sure I really want it, think you can come down on the price?"
