What others have said about exercise is true. I have arthritis bad in my neck, hands, shoulders and knees(just about my whole body) and my hip joints will need replacement when the pain gets to where I cant stand it any longer (this according to my orthopedic doctor). Celebrex used to work pretty good for the pain, but my doctor no longer prescribes it. I have taken Advil, Tylenol, and currently take 2 Naproxen in the morning and 1 at night (maximum dosage of 3). All of this can upset your stomach and liver but one has to take his chances with pain or side effects of pain reliever some time. This works well when I am outside working and keeping limber, but on a rainy day when I cant get outside to work and keep my joints mobile, I get stiff all over.
A few days ago I was setting around with my neighbors, 2 of which are same age as me (66) and one couple is 80&85 and still active. We were talking about our ailments as old folks do when they get together and Mike, the across the street neighbor lady, said she has no ailments, no pains completely healthy. Don't you just hate old folks like that? She does all the yard work and is constantly doing something which is good. She is my work buddy and anytime I don't have any work around my place, I go over and help her just so I can keep active because if I don't, then I am stove up and hurt all over till I can get outside and move around.
Today might be one of those stove up days- It is supposed to rain all day. Changing weather affects me also, whether storm front or clearing, it makes my joints stiffen up for a day or so during and after the change.
