I am definitely going to have to experiment with a spatula next time. This is the kind of field testing I could really sink my teeth into.
I loaded this log with my grapple. It is about 38" on the big end. It was absolutely all my tractor wanted to lift.

That's the best way to cut a tree when you intend to removed the stump with a grapple. Lots of leverage to push the stump with before slipping the grapple underneath to pop it out.<img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=469319"/>
