Price Check Landpride FDR2572 Finish Mower

Did a search, didn't see any threads less than 4 years old.

Anybody bought a Landpride FDR2572 or something close to it lately? I'm considering it, but need to know what to expect price-wise.

Bought a new FDR2584 last fall. I'm thinking it was like $3200. Packaged with a tractor. Don't remember the exact break out.

Whoa. I'd be all over that like a cheap suit if it was, say, 3 or 4 states closer!

Dealer quoted me $35xx new.

Found a like-new FDR1660 on Craigslist. 'Druther have had a 72" but this one was so nice I couldn't pass it up.

Paint like new, not a speck of rust anywhere. I talked him down a little from his $1000 asking price as the tires were all dry rotted and cracked. We came to an agreement and he loaded it up on my trailer.

Mows nice! Best part is, you can get parts for it.

I was quoted $2,000 for a FDR1672 and $2,800 for a FDR2572. The only difference appears to be the gear box. According the Kubota's website, the 1672 is only good for 30HP. The tractor I'm planning on using with it has 42 HP at the PTO. The dealer said that wouldn't be a problem for the 1672. What do y'all think?

I'd spend the extra money on the 2572. The tractor HP ratings on those mowers does not appear to be the PTO horsepower. LP lists it as "Engine", which I assume must mean the gross engine horsepower. If your tractor has 42 HP at the PTO, then it probably has at least 50 gross engine HP. The 1672 is going to be too light duty for your tractor and you'll more easily tear it up.

Spend the extra money and get the one rated for your tractor. In fact, if you've got 42 HP at the PTO, why are you looking for a finish mower that's only 72"?

That was my question. We run a 84" finish mower behind our L3830 (32 PTO HP) and it handles it as well as the BX2660 handles its 60" deck.
With that much hp, how big of an area are you looking at cutting? If its a big area, look at a batwing turf mower, or a 90+ inch multi section ("flex deck") finish mower.
