Seeing that you're trailering often, do you subscribe to the rag in the exhaust given the turbo theory? I'm on the fence.

Haven't yet.

I too am concerned about the sidelink drifting down when mowing. If it becomes and issue, I will probably use the OEM link when mowing, and throw the hydraulic one on when doing dirt work.

Land pride has some nice check chains that allow u to lock the cutter into a specified forward height that hook onto the top link pin. I think this is the ultimate solution. Can probably rig up similar by fabbing a few brackets.

If you have trouble with a regular cylinder, you can get them with dpcv here: TOP-N-TILT

FWIW I have OEM 3rd function (its made by land pride) and one OEM remote that mostly runs a top link (of an old New Holland). If you use a Quick Hitch and change impliments a lot the hydraulic top link is awesome.

I was planning on eventually stacking one more valve on with float then splitting that in two with an electric-over-hydraulic unit. All to run a T&T box blade with hydraulic scarifiers. What do you think about that plan? James?

Any pictures of the MX5100 proper? More than just the hood? :D

How well do the hydraulic top links hold up? Seems like bush hogging with them would be a lot of extra stress. I have a 7' hog. Would like to go to a 10' pull type. MX5200 tractor.

Mine works to my satisfaction, leak down is minimal, wish I had put the float valve in it. With a dpcv, a float will not work.

We use a 10' pull type cutter with our M8540 and love it.

My fitrite hyd top link handles my 8' LandPride with QH no problem. Has float but cutter already has a decent swing pivot atop so that handles the ground fluctuations sufficiently.

My cutters have Flexible toplinks. Either the swinging bracket, or chains from a-frame to tailwheel. So not really any stresses on the toplink when mowing.
