My friend has a 2015 F250 Platinum. We both agree, it has a horrible ride over bumps on the highway. It is a beautiful truck. The interior almost makes up for the jarring ride, but not quite. It is like the suspension doesn't have that first inch or two of "suppleness". He says the difference between the 3/4 and the 1 ton is that the 1 ton has 1 more leaf in the rear suspension.

He often takes his F150 2009 model for the comfort.

I can vouch for your buddy. I drove an F 250 and 350 for about four years. My last trip across country, and I got home and traded in for a 16 F150. I do seriously miss that power stroke engine, good Lord, that thing could fly...

I do really want to see what the new ford super duty brings about, but timing may prove bad. We would like a new truck prior to our summer vacation so we can drag our camper along with us.

For us this truck is going to be purely recreational, and that is why the ride quality means a lot to me. All three brands of heavy duties will more then exceed our needs, we could probably get by with a max payload egoboost F150.

It's mostly preference between them, drive all three and pick what you like best. They all have some pros and cons.

They are a pretty tough combination to find. I haven't seen one for sale anywhere.

Even though my cousin in CO has 2 HD trucks, he choses to rent a truck to haul his huge camper in the mountains. You get a newer truck with less worries about maintenance.
