Buying my 1st tractor this weekend and need advise BIG TIME - quotes included

I'm thinking you will not be happy with the Kubota and will be second guessing yourself if you go Orange.

That decision has been chiseled in stone. No Kubota for me because of that treadle pedal. Another lost sale because Kubota wants to be different.
Honestly i was wayyyy more comfortable on the JD and it was roomier. Im thinking that being comfortable with the operation and movements
is of the utmost importance when you are a new user. Even though the KUB seat is more comfortable, i was just no where near as comfortable
with the operation and driving as i was with the JD. But thats just me. Dealer is now putting the financing together for the 2501 / h130 loader with 53" bucket / 5 foot box blade /power beyond

Just got a call from the dealer - he is picking up the bucket and box blade from one of his other locations .
He says he may personally deliver it himself. :thumbsup:

WOW i can't say enough good things
about this AG PRO dealer going out of his way to make the customer happy.
Customer service is almost non existent in todays society and this dealer is on top of his game and VERY competitive.

Delivery is Thursday.

Heres the breakdown if you are shopping for a deal.

1- 2025R with H130 Loader and box blade $15,687.00
1- 53" bucket upgrade N/C
1- 60 inch box blade upgrade N/C
1- Trailer towing / moving T hitch setup that hooks to 3 point ( don't know the real name for it ) $139.00
1- Sunshade canopy with mounting brackets installed by dealer $350.00
1- Power Beyond kit $480.70
1- Delivery from 170 miles away N/C

And so many people say that Kubota is so much cheaper - Not in this case. And we are talking apples to apples tractors.
My Kubota 2601 quote was $16,290.00 without the rear hydraulics / sunshade / trailer towing attachment.
When i asked 2 other Kubota dealers to match that quote, they said " If he's selling it that cheap, you better go buy it"..

Also the ability to curl while raising is a must in my opinion. My dads new holland does not have that function either and drives me nuts, Takes noticably longer to load my dump trailer at his house

No doubt you've chosen the right tractor for you, but that statement is a bit simplistic and over broad. Enough people either prefer or are indifferent to the treadle to have kept Kubota in business selling a lot machines even before many of its competitors even entered the market. We went from a John Deere to a Kubota in large part because of preference for the treadle design. We have owned three John Deeres and now have a 1025R in addition to our BXs. The BXs are by far the preferred machine. Three of our four neighbors have gone from green to orange since we moved here.

People buy things they like and work for them, not to be different.

No doubt that the lift curl function is a big plus but the treadle pedal and my injury limitations are a no go. I have said and still say the KUB is a slightly stouter built tractor but the interface just won't work for me.

I dislike the way JD runs the loader hydro lines. I wish they had them tucked in like KUB does so they are out of the way and can't snag anything.

Clearly there is NO perfect tractor.

On my 2320 I've never had to bump the HST pedal to shift ranges. However, I sometimes have to when I go into and out of 4WD. This all my be peculiar to individual tractors. In any event, not a big deal.

As the gear portion of the transmission "wears in" it gets "slicker" easier to change ranges.

You can operate the treadle without moving your foot off of it to go to rev ? I was instructed by the dealer like this - When you go from fwd to rev, take your foot off the fwd part of the pedal,
put the ball of your foot on the deck by the middle of the of the pedal, rock your foot backwards and use your heel to depress the rev part of the pedal. When loading and moving material, thats a lot of extra work for the leg and foot for a guy with physical problems on that side of the body. If i had to guess, the length
of the pedal from fwd to rev pads on the pedal is about 14 to 16 inches. I have size 10 feet . There is no way i would be able to operate that pedal without removing my foot
and repositioning so i could push down and back with my heel for reverse. If theres a way to operate that pedal differently, he lost the sale yesterday because of it.

The only snag we have on the deere deal is the availability of a 53 or 61 inch bucket. It has a 49" bucket on it and the rear tires on the 2025r are wider than that. I want the 53 or 61
bucket or i won't buy it. Hopefully i will get a call from him today telling me he can get the 53 or 61. He does not stock either. I don't want to be buying a bucket down the road.
I think the 53 is probably the best choice as the rear width of the 2025r is 51. What i know is i don't want the 49" that he stocks for the H130 loader.

The 61" bucket on the H130 loader would be good for picking up sawdust, dry mulch and hay bales, that's it. There is a reason the H130 comes with a 49" bucket.
A shuttle shift trans is a lot nicer than a straight gear. I prefer it over any HST for 75% of the situations I use our tractors for.

Baring a physical impediment I think most equipment will become more user friendly the more time you spend on it. I have ran many different things, many with unique features that are different from what feels "normal" but start to feel normal with time.

I ran a dozer once to help a guy out. I was surprised that pushing the fuel peddle to the floor was idle. Raising my foot raised the rpm's. Completely opposite of anything I had any experience with but it didn't take long to get used to. I "think" I know the reason it was set up like this but don't even know if all dozers are this way, it's the only one I ever ran.
