Ford electroplates or does something to the aluminum to combat corrosion. They don't use a lot of salt on the roads where I'm at (mostly course sand)but I think it is a good idea to wash the a vehicle if there's a lot of slush and stuff on the roads. I guess just have to wait and see how the new F150's hold up over time. I heard the 2017 F250's are supposed to be aluminum too.

Heck, the 2.7L is more powerful and has more torque than the largest available V8 in an F150 from only 6 years ago. The 2010 5.4L had 310/365 I believe, whereas the 2.7L makes 325/375. Pretty impressive for a little V6!

Except for the 16-valve SOHC VCT 6.2 L Boss engine, 411 hp (306 kW) @ 5500 rpm, 434 lb·ft (588 N·m) @ 4500 rpm

There was a issue with the aluminum panels several years ago that included the Mustang but they probably addressed that. The aluminum was corroding under the paint.

Have you looked at the Transport? You can get a dually diesel :)

Why do people spend so much time worrying about how often to change the oil? Trust but verify. Do a used oil analysis and find out.
I asked an analyst at a tribology firm, "What is the benefit at changing oil at 3;000 miles or some other arbitrary number lower than the manufacturer's spec. "You create very high quality waste oil."

Why do they do it? "Because their fathers did it." Our Ecoboost ford Transit has an oil life system and we just changed it at 10,100 miles. But I believe we changed it earlier and didn't reset the system

Hoe do you "wash" a vehicle when it's well below freezing? Most car washes close when it's below 10 F. It's the rain after salt is put down that really coats a vehicle.

Our 2006 Outback has aluminum hood and tail gate and shows no signs of corrosion. Plastic fender liners have been the #1 tool to stop corrosion and have made a huge difference.

New word for me. So what interval does the tribologist (sp?) change oil at? And what brand oil? Very curious.

Those Dumb Chevy Ads Couldn't Hurt The Ford F-150 A lot were government and fleet sales, though. Market up 10% YOY, Ford up 10%, Chevy down 0.8%. Most of the growth was in the med-sized segment: Colorado, Frontier, and Tacoma. Top 11 Best-Selling Pickup Trucks In America - June 216 YTD - GOOD CAR BAD CAR

And Ford got several conquest sales from GM. I'm one of them and witnessed several others buying Ford trucks the day I bought mine. Ford dealership got a new sales manager and he has been ready to deal. I have a feeling GM is treading water again because yes profit is nice but if you aren't moving iron then that's bad. Really bad.

I said it before and I will say it again. We wasted our money bailing out GM. I said back then that they would be bankrupt again in 10 years because they are not willing to change.

Look at Ford and Ram. They are innovative and take chances. Ford with the highly successful Ecoboost and now the Aluminum bodies.

Ram with the popular EcoDiesel, Ram Box Beds, and multi speed trannys. Not to mention their quilts is now on par with Fords.

GM? Nothing.... Still the same old same old.

My Grandpa always said, He owned 2 car lots (Chrysler and a Used Lot), that GM was so far behind they actually think they are in the lead. Lots of truth to that.

That woman that took over made a huge huge mistake by jacking up the prices and then refusing to do rebates. The public expects to get so much off on a new car because the car industry has trained them to expect that, now you go and take that away and expect us not to shop around? Ford will wheel and deal now (finally!) and RAM has always been willing to do it. Another mistake she made is who she's marketing her trucks to. Look at the adds, it's a bunch of young hipsters standing around talking about trucks and wifi. If she thinks that is who buys her trucks she's dead wrong. Turn off #3 is how they package their models of trucks(and cars too). If you're charging me $27000 for a Malibu with cloth seats while the Camry comes in XSE trim (next to top of the line XLE) where do you think I'm going to spend my money? If RAM is offering their ecodiesel in every single trim and Ford is offering the ecoboost in all their trims, why in the world would you force me to spend $50,000+ just to get your 6.2???? This lady needs a reality check.
