I have a hard time believing this one. I was looking at thier website and they dont' even have a dealer in Nebraska and the closes dealer is in Glenrock WY and it some sort of 4 wheeler dealership. Next closes it in Denver.

Not mention their biggest tractor is barely 100 HP which is much smaller than what most farmers use.

At least around here no farmer in his right mind would buy a Mahindra as there is no place to buy or even have one serviced and there is a JD dealer within an hour of just about anywhere in the state.

I had a Bobcat CT445 and the other day I ran a similar sized John Deere with a brush hog. I was really impressed with the JD to be honest and I know it was being abused as a rental. Even with the extra cost I'd consider them if I bought another tractor.

The reason there are no Nebraska dealers is due to state laws. State law requires all tractors over 40 HP to go through the Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory.... and the cost to do so is insane so they have opted to NOT sell in Nebraska.

Wow memories.... when I was a kid I had one of them Kawasaki LTD 1100's dam near killed my self lmao, I weighed about 130 lbs soaking wet when I was 18 years old lol!

I had a 1979 KZ650 and I thought it was a very powerful machine. And it was. I looked at the larger bikes, but I just didn't see the need for that much power between my legs. My 650 was scary enough. It was a heck of a nice bike though.

There is also only 1 dealer in Wyoming, a yamaha dealer who sells these on the side.
1 Dealer in Colorado who specializes in lawnmowers and outdoor power equipment.
1 Dealer in Montana who is a Suzuki outboard and boat sales specialist.

Needless to say Mahindra is not competing with JD in this part of the world as a side item at a boat, lawnmower, or motorcycle dealership compared to full blown farm tractor dealers where farmers actually buy and have equipment serviced.

What does Nebraska have to do with where he got his tractor?

The OP said he met him in New Hampshire. :confused3:

OP was discussing Mahindra replacing JD on farms. I looked up the dealerships in the region to see if that was happening in this region as I have never seen a mahindra dealer. Noticed that there was limited distribution in the area. Came to the conclusion that Mahindra was not replacing JD on farms in this reagion and I have a hard time believing they are challenging JD dealers on farm equipment from motorcycle and boat dealers.

Myth busted.

I repeat; what does Nebraska have to do with New Hampshire?

Oh, I forgot. Nebraska is the center of the Universe by which all man follows. :talktothehand:

Good spin though. :)

Many people use the Nebraska tractor tests to compare tractors to tractors. Its the officially designated tractor testing station for the United States and many countries have adopted their standards...

Here's a good read on it...

I'm aware of that. But the price of tea in China has nothing to do with the purchasing practices of the farmers in New Hampshire. Why compare them to Nebraska? You're trying to compare apples to saw dust and make a claim that doesn't have a basis for reason. I live in Texas. I could care less what is sold or purchased in Nebraska.

You can keep repeating all you want but it's not my problem you can't see how the conversation progressed. OP said Mahindra was replacing JD for farm applications. I looked up the dealer network in the region to see if that was true in this part of the world, and it wasn't. Then you started whining about Nebraska being in the conversation.

If you want to believe Mahindra is replacing JD for farming applications so be it. I do not and that's not spin, its based off what I see in this region including the Mahindra dealer network (if you want to call it that).

If you want to discuss Mahindra replacing JD in New Hampshire feel free to add to the conversation. Do you have anything to add?
