The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and get the same results expecting something different. That is how this discussion is going. Some people here do not need nor want guns so in their mind neither do you. Pure ignorance or selfishness. Your guess is as good as mine.

Yeah, IT never gives up with his anti-gun rhetoric. Even when shown when he is wrong, he is like the energizer bunny, he just keeps on going spewing the same old same old. You have to wonder if something happened in his life to cause this. Or maybe it is just a part of the entire left wing belief system.

Maybe IT just want's to make the world a "better place". When ever I hear that phrase, I cannot help but think of Phillip and Elizabeth the two KGB spies on the television series The Americans. When asked by their daughter Paige why they are KGB spies they replied they want to "make the world a better place".
Of course they have killed probably between them at least 100 people in the 20 years they have been over here, but to them, it is all justified to make the world a better place.

The end justifies the means.

All good points. Gun violence is clustered and is concentrated in cities. I fail to see how more guns will ameliorate that situation. Additionally, the TBN demographic (mostly non youthful white middle class white men living in rural or semi rural communities) is actually the lowest risk group for murder in the USA. Our wives and girlfriends are at somewhat higher risk but only because their own men kill them, often with a gun that was supposed to "protect". Same with kids. Thanks to NRA ban on most CDC firearms research we don't have good data on how many kids lives might be saved by having guns in house but we do know that hundreds are accidentally killed when they find and play with parents guns. Suicide is a big factor in total gun deaths. You cannot simply exclude it by saying they would just find another method. Guns are fast and more lethal so availability does increase suicide rate. IIRC total suicides dropped in Australia after their 1996 gun buyback.
What crock of ****, if you don't commit suicide, are not a drug dealer, or a black criminal, your risk of gun violence is zero. As a matter of fact if you subtract just the suicides your risk of gun violence in USA is below the average worldwide. HS

Thanks to NRA ban on most CDC firearm research.. Up the garden path again? Why Congress Cut The CDC’s Gun Research Budget
With that logic, the egg and chicken industry should get CDC to stop studying Salmonella food poisoning because they are obviously biased.

NRA absolutely led the successful effort to slash CDC's budget if they continued to investigate the impact of guns in the home. As a result we don't know if guns in the home have a net protective or harmful effect on survival.

He fits the description of internet troll. He seems only to be here to agitate and disgust those opposing views. True debate can educate people but that's not the case here.

Boy how things have changed...
When I was in the 7th grade we had hunter safety as part of PE...
Just about all the guys hunted squirrel and rabbit...
All knew how to handle a shotgun and a 22...
That was in 1971...
I remember my friend and I hunting with his dad...
We were 12 years old at the time...
We were taught at an early age about firearms and safety...
My first shotgun was a double barrel 410...
Wish I still had it...

All this talk of gun control really comes down to personal behavior and individual rights...
I can kill someone with a sling and a rock...
Ask Goliath...
The AG overstepped her authority on this issue...
Irrelevant whether you agree with the decision or not...
We have laws for a reason...
If we are not going to follow them they need to be rescinded...

that's the liberal way.. I don't want / like it, so you shouldn't be allowed to have it

You have to weigh gun control statistics against the 20 million dead in Europe, 22 million dead in Russia, and 25 million killed in China, 20 million in Vietnam dead, all killed by the gun control governments you would like to join. HS

A gun will not give you cancer, nor cause you to contract AIDS. Guns do not carry viruses like mosquitos. Gun crime should be dealt with as the thing that it is: crime
The CDC has NO business investigating something that they know NOTHING about !!

Might I suggest that you go back and look at my post from last week in this thread on the subject? Suicides were in the middle of a spike in 1996 and kept rising after the 1996 ban. They didn't really start falling noticeably until 1998 and hanging as a method of committing suicide went up to replace guns percentagewise (much like is the case in Canada).
