You don't have a constitutionally protected right to a car. You analogy doesn't make sense. Your State can do anything they want with cars, but not people's protected rights! If you can't abide by constitution maybe your State should leave. HS

They can have my car when the pry the gearshift from my cold dead hands (and remove my seatbelt)!

A funny, just for Jerry, or Bob.

"A Liberal is a tool, Marian; no better or no worse than any other tool: an axe, a shovel or anything. A Liberal is as good or as bad as the politician using it. Remember that."

The state still has to comply with the Bill of Rights, including the 2nd Amendment...and the closing of "a simple loophole" that requires legislative action...not an AG doing it for nothing more then political points is not a valid answer. Also, I strongly suggest you cease bringing any references to the NRA up....we're making OUR statements, not the NRA's statements
I agree on compliance with 2nd amendment even though currently SCOTUS has pushed that interpretation to an extreme never before used in our nation's history. Rule of law is critical.

All laws require executive interpretation and clarification. Mass AG is just doing her job. The law was to ban/limit AR15 type weapons. The closed loopholes simply prevent gun manufacturers from selling rifles that are for all practical purposes the same as the banned AR.

I appreciate that you are making your own statements but how did you even find out about this technical correction? I'm guessing that the NRA network was responsible. Or do Vermonters routinely do checks of the MA equivalent of the federal register?

You keep quoting the NRA.. I haven't heard anything from them yet on this issue.. Why won't you understand the NRA is us? You have the tail wagging the dog. All of your friends seem to do this as well. The NRA is about the membership. You refuse to believe this.. Why don't you join the NRA so you can learn more?
The NRA is a powerful lobbying and special interest group with far ranging political influence. Please don't think we are dumb enough to accept that it is a simple sportsman's association.

Of course it is a powerful lobbying and special interest group - that is doing exactly what I am paying my dues for it to do.
It represents me!
Yeah, you're thinking of the huge bags of money the firearms manufacturers dump into the NRA. Guess where the money comes from?
The millions of civilian gun owners that believe in and exercise their rights.

This will help:

"The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
- Thomas Jefferson, Commonplace Book (quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria), 1774-1776

no, couldn't go. I have an elderly parent at home who can't be left alone. I have to stay when she can't and she has to stay when I can't. I spread the word everywhere I could, and I support all the gun rights groups, financially, on a regular automatic basis. I try as much as I can to support the cause as best as I can. Wish I could do more.

Glad you are doing what you can. We all wish we could do more. Not everyone can make rallies and such. I too donate often to the gun rights groups. Like you said, we all do what we feel we can and that is all we can do! This is the first time I have ever stepped up and attended a political rally for anything. This was such a gross overreach and political stunt by the AG that I felt compelled to get more involved...

LAS VEGAS -
A gunman and his underage driver tried to rob a group of people playing the popular Pokemon Go game, triggering a shootout after one of the players pulled out his own weapon at a Las Vegas park that has become a hot spot for virtual creature hunting.

The incident early Monday marked the latest illustration of unintended consequences in everyday life due to the booming popularity of the GPS-powered "augmented reality" game.

Las Vegas police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said the shooting left a Pokemon player and the would-be armed robber hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. Charges are expected against both that suspect and the juvenile who was driving the SUV.

Shortly after 4 a.m., a group of six people were at a public park east of downtown playing the popular smartphone game, which sends players to physical locations to "catch" virtual Pokemon characters.

Police said an armed man and the young driver drove up to the group in an SUV and demanded their possessions at gunpoint. One of the Pokemon players who has a concealed weapons permit drew his own gun and the two sides exchanged fire.

One person in the Pokemon group was shot once in the stomach and taken to the hospital. Meltzer said it's unclear if that person shot is also the player who had his own gun but that the group of local players knew each other.

The man believed to be the suspect also was treated at the hospital for a gunshot wound. How he got to the hospital is not clear, but a matching SUV was found there.

Facebook users in a few Pokemon Go groups have suggested the location of the shooting, Gary Reese Freedom Park, as a hotspot for a particular kind of pocket monster known as Magikarp. In postings about nearby parks that are good places to catch specific kinds of Pokemon, the park is noted as a good place to collect the fish-like creature.

Police haven't cited a motive or said if the Pokemon players were targeted.

But this isn't the first report of suspects trying to rob people engrossed in the hugely-popular Pokemon Go game. Four teens in St. Louis robbed victims earlier this month after luring them to a specific location using Pokemon Go
