I hope when Trump becomes president that he slashes the EPA budget so those men go back to a good paying job, because coal is a lot cleaner today with are these new SURE
And scrubbers the industry came up with.

What about the front end of coal use? West Virginia comes to mind.

Coal is extremely controversial here in the SF Bay Area.

A military base/port reuse plan that the city signed off on and the State of Utah has stepped up to fund something like 50 million to make the terminal suitable for coal shipments has been one legal and political fight once word got out...

All was good with construction and union jobs and adding the regional economy until it was learned coal cars would utilize the port... then all you know what broke loose.

Don't know where it will end... I imagine protesters blocking rail lines if it gets that far and this could become a States issue since the State of Utah is backing coal shipments.

I had to look that up. Now I know what you're talking about.

Here's some we took out, added more titanium catalyst and then re-installed more than twenty years ago.

I don't really know what the issue was, but the factory told us they weighed 3,000 pounds. When we first came up on them with the crane, with just a lattice boom jib rigged single part, the LMI said they were going at about 8K. Although we were far inside the chart and load line, the rope stretch was kind of scary. Switched out the jib for the manual extend main boom, and went two part, and everything was hunky dory.

Democrats, liberals , animals rights and environmentalists think using feelings to make decisions instead of facts . They are sure that with enough lobbying , political correctness and tax payer money their agenda is the best despite human nature and the laws of physics .
