My Mahindra owners' cap was made in China. There are numerous ball cap manufacturers in India. Why would they outsource these?

Lowest bidder wins. ;)

That, or some tractor guy's sister is married to some factory owner....

I have a large noggin and I've used hats from India for years, but needed something with a bigger bill. I got a 'big' Chinese hat and when I got it home, I decided I could have saved some money by getting one a bit smaller, as the one I got has a tremendous sized bill, providing much more shade than I need. ;)

That cap probably never saw Indian soil. It was probably purchased by an American distributor, for distribution in the U.S., and of course made in the cheapest place possible. So it was outsourced whether it was coming from India or China. Just my theory.

//And yes people in Nebraska know a bit more about farming than those in New Hampshire. I'm sure you can figure out why.
Same reason people from Nebraska don't know how to sail!

But given that Nebraska is over 77,000 square miles and all of New England is 72,000 square miles v(NH is 9,350 of that), not sure it's an apt comparison.

Now, if the conversation was rocks, by god, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont would rule the roost. It's New England's most reliable crop.

And I can attest that the same holds true through my part of the Great Lakes -I live in a part of the country with no label. Stupid glaciers. I always tell my fiance, if people paid for rocks, we'd be sitting on a goldmine. Then when my grandpa asks why the rocks aren't all picked, I tell him that if I didn't have rocks, I wouldn't have any fields!

Old VT joke that applies.

Farmer is out in a field, stacking rocks. A Cadillac with NY plates stops and asks, "Where'd all those rocks come from?"
Farmer: "Glaciah brought 'em."
NYer "That so? Then where's the glacier now?"
Farmer: "Went back to get more rocks."

After trying to "move" portions of stone wall for trails and such, I have a lot of respect for those old-timers who made miles of stone walls by hand.

I'd still like to know how the one guy claimed that you can't sell a tractor in Nebraska that wasn't tested... Yet my Massey models are sold there, but not listed on the Nebraska Test site.
