The blade edge on my 14" makita cut off saw has worn off on the inside (due to trying to make shave cuts)...and the rounded off side wants to migrate to the outside as it cuts...leaving an out of square cut...
What is the best way to dress the edge on an abrasive blade?...I was hoping to find a simple dressing tool but no joy...
any suggestions other than just eyeballing it with a dressing stone?

Can you turn the blade around?
I thought about and I can...but I'm sure I'm going to have a need to be making more of the same type of problematic shave cuts...

Toss it, get a new 14' blade and use a grinder to shave off a tiny bit. Mark it all around first with a square, if you need the accuracy. Seriously. Abrasive blades do not like that at all, and can blow apart from being bent when they are only partially in a cut. Assuming I understand what you are doing correctly.

Years ago I built this 18-inch, 7 1/2 horse power chop saw. I don't remember breaking any blades with it. But I worked in a Fab shop that had one just like it. When the blades would break, if the chunks hit you in the chest, it would almost knock you down!

I bought a similar saw at an auction for $160. Mine is a 20" with a 10hp motor. These big saws make a little 12" portable saw look like children's toys. I need to rework the table. Whoever build it put the stop which is a 5" piece of angle iron upside down. image-3454060587.jpg

I believe the abrasive saws on our old rail changers where in the 22-24 in dia range. They would cut thru a piece of rail in about a minute or 2. When cutting you had to put your body weight on the saw and ride it down thru the rail. Now days they use the gas powered chop saws, with 14in blades, some have 16in bldaes. You only get about one cut and maybe a part of a second cut per blade.
