Wondering if anyone has a security system that is cellular only and what options exist?

I've found Simplysafe but can't tell if they're any good or if there are better options.

I realize being rural, sherif response time will not be immediate but given I'm not living there full time it will at least notify me if there is a problem and possibly drive them away faster

TIA!

I had an older system that used the landline. When I canceled the landline I found Home Security Systems - Affordable, Customized Solutions | LiveWatch and SafeMart who offers complete systems with cellular. They also had just a cellular box I was able to add to the existing security system where the phone line plugged in eliminating the need to buy and install a new system. I have used them about 2 years with no problems.

Yes, there are security systems that only require cell service. Front point and Protect America are two in the top five rated home security systems that supposedly will work on cell service only. I can't remember the name of the one I checked on but it was $49/month plus the cost of the cell service here - $42/month.

BTW - what do you mean by "no internet". I know of two services that provide internet via satellite - - HughesNet & WildBlue Exede.

My security guy uses these new systems. They have a Sim card and they require a very basic service. Should be able to get one for less than 29 per month including the monitoring and cell service.

It only calls out when there's an alarm and transmits codes to the service center.

The systems are super easy to install nowadays because they are battery driven and wireless.

But, like anything if you get a good independent security guy he will take care of you and when you have an issue you can call him instead if hoping for the best with some 800#

They can do a full system in a couple hours. The options are endless these days.

I don't live out there full time so can't justify paying for Internet or TV. Still fairly primitive.

Do you have cell signal out there? I don't have it at my rural property and we're only 9 miles from town.

Yep, good cell signal at the house. Not so much on other spots around the property but house is good.

Simplisafe looks interesting with no contracts but would like to hear from someone with it.
