Trying to decide Kubota BX25 or 1025R

Does this seem like a HUGE limitation to anyone else? Maybe it's just me.
Absolutely this would be unacceptable to me if this is true. :confused3:

Great informative and well written posts by many here.

I chose the BX25D and couldn't be happier after 300+ hard hours. No mowing as I use a zero turn for that. Too much rough terrain for me to utilize a MMM. BH a great toy. Buy or make a dolly to make it convenient to install/remove and store. Add the Piranha Tooth Bar so you can dig with your FEL bucket. Wheel spacers and some underarmor to protect the HST. Awesome machine!!! That said, I am sure you will also be happy if you choose green instead.

I'm not sure what it means by can only able to do "one function at a time"?

As for implements the only thing I am going to get is a brush hog and box blade. The driveway is about 450ft and I will need to do the prep for my pole building, dig some trenches and possibly level around my house. I also have some fencing work that needs to be done and no idea what implements I will be buying in the future.

I have been calling all the local John Deere dealers, sucks because they are all the same company, and they say they don't deal or compete with the other dealers. Of course they say there isn't much room in the pricing, which seems funny because I have received 3 different estimates.

If I decide to go deere I will probably end up purchasing in Oregon, no tax and the tractor is cheaper. 2 downsides would be the delivery costs or going to pick it up. Might be worth a day to save 2k+

Hold on. The Deere backhoe can only perform one function at a time?! That would bug me on the loader but would be a game-changer running a hoe. In my mind efficiency and control would be a real problem.
No no no
I think it takes finesse to do two operations at once. I need to do a video because that was a huge complaint I ran across when I was researching. But I can't understand the issue. Maybe I'm new?

Well, it can't take too much finesse, because I can do it. I often will tilt a bucket while raising or lowering the loader. Or, drop the loader while raising the bucket after dumping a load. Can't imagine not being able to do that.

Good, someone who owns one. You're confirming it is possible to pull the boom back while you curl the bucket, at the same time, on the 260 backhoe? What about the other functions? What about the FEL, can it do two functions, at once?

Now that my friend is where it gets difficult. Fel is a one trick pony . I learned the hard way with a load of mulch. I was trying to lower and curl my bucket but had to do it by baby steps. Which resulted in a low of shaking as I stopped each movement. Don't get me wrong it's not the end of the world for me. I don't like how my fast dump is dependent on the weight of what's being dumped. With the bx fast dump is like road runner ..... Fast.

At moderate/full speed or while slow? I think that's the difference when comparing the bx.

Okay you guys are making me question what is 'old hat'. Operating the FEL bucket keeping it level as you raise or lower the arms? Swinging and curling the back hoe at the same time? I can't believe the functionality of the Deere or Kubota sub compact or bigger is different. Someone... please explain.

I know! Seems crazy to me too. I can't inagine operating a hoe where you can't curl the bucket and dipper at the same time... Nor dump the bucket/dipper while swinging!

From what it sounds like, if you want the keep the loader level while raising it you have to momentarily stop every few feet of height to dump the bucket a little thus keeping it "level."

A big problem with the loader but I think it would make the BH almost unusable for me.

I too would like an owner to confirm this just to satisfy my curiosity...

I have been emailing back and forth with the Deere dealers and it looks like they are not going to be doing any dealing. I think the deere will be about 4k+ more and I just don't think I can do that. Tickles me the wrong way when Kubota is willing to setup and deliver to for free (at least included in the price of the tractor) while the deere wants 350 for delivery, 469 freight and 100 setup on top an already more expensive tractor. I just don't think I could justify that even if I do like the deere better.

I even sent him the quote from Kubta that is 4k cheaper... I know it isn't all about price but 4-5k, maybe it is more about the delivery I don't know.

I am also trying to refinance the house in a year so the higher payment will be a factor
