Yep. Two pedal. I targeted three particularly bad spots in the pasture last weekend. First I used the rototiller to loosen things up then the box blade to level and finally the rake to smooth. Lots of back and forth. I'm still not 100% comfortable with the pedals but I'm getting there.

I'm sure it will become second nature to you in short order.

It should. I don't have any bad habits to break. The only thing close I've owned was a garden tractor with a hydro but I ended up returning it.

The 2540 has the loader capacity, there are pros and cons. I have the Max 24 and I am within a week or two of getting the 2538 or the 2540. I loved the Max 24 but its too small. I have a 100 hours on it in just over a year, I mow and hog 50% and use the FEL 50%. I can barely load my F350 dump with the Max 24, I load one side then go around and load the other side LMAO!

But we get it done, I should have bought the larger tractor from the start, but I didn't know I would get busier and take more work on. We originally bought the Max 24 for the house and the Max 26 for work. Now both are gonna get upgraded.

I like the 2540 due to its lift capacity, the shuttle doesn't bother me at all, the 2540 will do just fine mowing as well. A whole lot of tractor for the money,

I'm still curious about anyone with 2540. I got my 2555 last summer and have no regrets. I'm glad I ended up with an HST however. Are there any 2540 owners out there?

I wonder what the real sell price of a 2545 CAB with Loader & BH out the door cash would be? Got a friend looking.

Thanks for the feedback. I ended up going with the 2555 HST. I'm glad I ended up going hydro. My pastures are very rough and I'm always changing speeds when mowing or even just driving across them.

You'll be glad you went with the 2555 instead of the 2538 or 2540, it's twice the tractor.

No regrets on my 2540 .. 119 hours .. plenty of power I hardly use the low range at all...I actually loose traction than power.. I set my rpms a little over 2000 even when I'm brush hogging tall grass doesn't bogs down .. I don't think I haven't use it in the pto suggested rpms yet..

2540 is going away, I had two dealers tell me that. 2545 is replacing it.
