My parents had a great time visiting Yellow Knife and surrounds about 20 years back... said people could not have been nicer and nothing locked up.

They rented a car and were told to help themselves as each were unlocked with the keys inside.

The theft is everywhere I'm afraid. Here in eastern Canada I lost about three cords over the last three years. I have them on game cam, know who they are and I am just deciding what I am going to do. These guy are around 70 years old, have lots of money and have access to there own family's property with wood. No instead of cutting their own they come and steel mine. I already approached them and they have never been back. I told them I drilled holes and put a 22 bullet and gun power in the wood. Whoever stole the wood will be sorry and that is just the start.

The seal to the front axel input shaft is blown. I have a pretty good idea who stole the splitter. He only has 14 warrants out on him...

not a bad idea but a guy up the road caught a theif and took pictures of him. This was the second time he stole and was convicted from steeling from the same property. He put his picture on Facebook so the community would be watching for him. He was told to take it off Facebook because he could be charged for slander. The rules are not made for the honest guys. They are made to protect the criminals. This guy steels about $6000 a month and getting caught once a month for theft under $3000 is a $500 or $1000 fine. So if he steels $5000 a month and gets a $1000 fine he is up $4000. He even steels the copper pipe and wiring out of vacant houses. He ruined a house because of the water damage. Getting that fine is just a business expense. So the question is what can I do. Do I let him and watch him. keep steel from the community? Cops cannot do anything to stop him. He gets a fine but he keeps steeling. If I touch him I would be the one in jail. A fellow I know told a cop that he was going to shoot a guy for repeated theft. The cop told him make sure he is in the house when I come to investagate and it shouldn't be a problem. Is that really where it has to go? Man I am not going to do that but I would not mind braking his fingers.
