New Kioti CK2610 HST- A few problems

   / New Kioti CK2610 HST- A few problems #11
Danny I think 1st gear may be the one that is the hardest to get into at times but just leaving it there is fine no need to shift it into neutral. Clean up around the cylinder and if it continues to leak or even have a drip on it have the dealer fix it. A leak will not cause any damage but nobody wants oil puddles especially with a new machine. I guess I forgot to point out when the forward reverse lever is centered the trans is in neutral.

Mine is a gear but the range lever is a bit tricky to get into Low. The other 2 ( M,H) go in like butter. I have noticed that it doesn't need to be past the "L" mark to be engaged. In other words practice sliding it by L a few times and you will notice it just barely comes back a teeny bit toward the M and locks into place.

50 hours hasn't changed this.

Good luck, Fred

Don't let dealer talk you out of getting your machine perfect.

You purchased new for a reason

You should be able to easily see if wood chip is wedged in seal

I've never seen anything other than piston scoring cause a leak

Sounds like poorly seated seal

To change gears easily,
Stop the tractor.
Rock the fwd/rev pedal backwards and forwards a couple of times. Then you will find it is easy to shift. Sometimes you can actually feel it 'unload'.

I had the problem when I bought my CK30 and no-one could tell me how to fix it. I discovered it myself accidentally and it has never been a problem since.
If you are on a hill then it can still stick as it has pressure on the gear you are in.

On a hill go a few feet in the oposit direct to unload the gears. Since this thread I started paying attention to how mine shifted and shifted a doz. or so times by coming to a stop and just shifting not using the clutch went smooth and no grinding.I'm not recommending this but it works for me.

This is all great advice on the gear range shifting. I've got ten hours on the tractor now and am getting much better at shifting it. I have only been doing actual work with the tractor in low, but just for practice have have been shifting into different ranges every once in a while. Now that I've worked out a technique (giving it a little hst pedal while I push on the range lever till it slips in), it seems to work pretty alright.

Alien, I'll try working the hst pedals forward and back and see how that works. It sounds like there are several different techniques that work. I'm just surprised that my owners manual didn't address this. I imagine there must be a lot of new owners frustrated by this until they figure it out.

Regarding the leaking cylinder, I pulled it off and mailed it into a dealer for repair. So now I'll be without use of the tractor for a bit. Can't wait to get it back together and play with it again.

Hi danny77: You shouldn't have a leak of any kind with a new tractor, and even a 5-6 year old one shouldn't either, in my opinion. I've had several little problems with my RX6010C that cause me to wish I would've spent the extra money on a Kubota. I own a 2008 Kubota L3400HST and it's been absolutely flawless. and you shouldn't have to put the tractor is Neutral when shut down.....I never do. That's the problem with a product no matter the warranty......the dealer (or factory) will not do anything to help you unless its broken. And, even then, they'll try to tell you that you did something wrong. When you buy a Kubota, you don't need the warranty.....it'll never go back. PS: I'm just a farmer, don't sell anything, I've got a 2008 Kubota L3400 HST; a 2012 Kioti RX6010C; and a 2003 Farmtrac 435,

My 2001 DK 35 has never been back to the dealer.
15 years, 2000+ hours and never gives me any problems.

I have the same problem with the range selector and have to depress the fwd pedal slightly sometimes. I also have found that if I pull the lever handle towards me when shifting if helps.
New ck2610, about 15 hours so far. Same problem: very difficult to get into gear from neutral. For me, from neutral to Low succeeds about 1/3 of the time; into Mid or High, almost never without some "pumping". I have been doing this by:
  1. start in neutral
  2. depress clutch; cannot push into gear
  3. release and fully depress clutch again
  4. press & release hst forward
  5. depress clutch and attempt shift again
  6. repeat 1-4 times (typically one for Low, 3-4+ for mid)
Could you clarify what you mean - are you giving it some HST forward while having the clutch depressed and giving the lever pressure?

I don't understand the transmission internals - is there any danger of damaging anything doing this? Seems like your trying to make the gears mesh while they are being actively driven, recipe for grinding / long term excessive wear (??)

<Old thread, but thought i'd post here before asking the exact same question>

It seems to help if the tractor is at a low idle too, along with suggestions in post #14
