I replaced the original front tires on my Ford 3000 6 years ago with a multi-rib implement tire (which is basically what was on it originally). These "new" tires tear up the grass when turning, particularly if its quite wet or quite dry out. Perhaps the old ones did too, when new I'm wondering what my options are? Would an 16" truck tire really make a difference? This is what I current have: IMG_2375.JPG

Originally it probably had a tri-rib or possibly a dual-rib.

I think they would do damage when new also.

Maybe a very gentle all-terrain LT type truck tire? Not confident enough to suggest spending the money though...

It did not, unless they were replaced very soon after purchase.

Or special ordered.

This tractor was designed to be a chore tractor in the AG world. With that intention the front tires need to get a good bite during turns. Takes a lot of pressure off the brakes.

Looked closely at your pic. Rear tires show significNt wear?? Maybe on it's second set of fronts by then?

Nice pic!!!

Keep your present tires an add 200-400 lb of front weight. Then when you turn the wheel, the tractor will turn instead of scuffing up turf.

Original rubber on the rear. Tractor has been on my property since it was 4 years old. It has less than 2700 hrs. I got the tractor with the property in 2009 and knew the previous owner.

This makes sense. I'll have to find a weight bracket and some weights. Slightly concerned about extra weight on soft ground but, I can't be too picky.
