I'm sure the manual requires the initial service at 100 miles or 20 hours whichever comes first and one of the things is the valve clearance check. Our trails close today but the next county has 2 more weeks and I think the boys plan on taking it for a ride tomorrow. 100 miles isn't very far. My wife mentioned the windshield also and she mentioned a roof also (you been talking to her)? As for the winch, did you go Honda or aftermarket (like Warn)?
I have installed a LOT of winches over the years, go aftermarket and save yourself some money. I prefer Superwinch Terra series as they are strong winches and have a lifetime warranty. Price wise they are also reasonable - Amazon.com: Superwinch 114522 Terra 45 ATV & Utility Winch (45 lbs/2 46kg Rating): Automotive
Amazon may not be the best price but I just happened to found it quickly for a sample for you. Their 4500lbs model is around $225 and very solid. I have had two Warns fail over the years and not had a bad Superwinch Terra series. The Warns are also very good but they are overpriced in my opinion.
