Bread Machines

We have not used our bread machine in years. Instead we used a no kneed technique and cast iron bread loaf pans or the case iron dutch oven to make bread.

No kneed bread is simply bread made with a bit more liquid/water than normal. Just mix up the yeast, flour, water/beer, fat, etc and then let the dough sit for 6 or so hours. Overnight works as well. Plenty of recipes on the web.

Heat up the cast iron in the oven, and when the oven is at temperature, put the dough into the cast iron and then bake. An internal bread temperature of around 200 degrees with a nice brown crust and the bread is done.

A slice of real whole grain bread and home made soup is more than enough to fill me up. Can't wait until it cools off so I can start making bread and soup again. :licking::licking::licking:

Later,
Dan

Any complaints, concerns or other feedback? I read mostly glowing reviews on this model but I rarely trust reviews.

Not a one. If this one died, I'd buy a other immediately. It also makes great pound cake and carrot cake. Recipes are in the manual. You can substitute orange zest for lemon zest for a delicious orange pound cake

That is exactly what I had expected you to say. Thank You. This machine should be perfect for us.

Year & years ago we had a bread machine. The BIG problem - I ate too much home made bread. So, one day I thought I would surprise the wife and whip up a loaf all by myself. Well - I did something wrong. The bread mixed and started to rise - it expanded out of the inner container and packed the entire machine full of rising dough. Then it went into the bake cycle and baked all this dough to a consistency of bakelite. No question - it sure did surprise the wife. End of that bread machine and we never replaced it.

We ordered one, went with the Zojirushi BB-PAC20.

My wife had a Zojirushi that worked well. She had something before that that didn't work so well but the Zojirushi never disappointed until she stopped using it for whatever reason and I think she got rid of it. She's basically just too lazy to make bread once the novelty wore off. I think that one you just dumped in the ingredients, pushed a button and it beeped when it was done. Still had that funny hole in the loaf though. Smelled pretty good when it was baking bread though.

I don't worry about loving it too much and paying the price in weight gain, but I died on Aug 4th and I do all of the cooking in our home and I don't care too much if I get fat. I have never been more than a few pounds overweight my whole life, I consider it a challenge. :D

Well this is something new. I've heard lately that dead people often vote democrat in elections but posting on message boards really is something new. Maybe this is taking the walking dead thing just a little too far.
