Hydraulic Top Link

Got the new hydraulic top link working. I won't miss hopping off of the tractor to make adjustments. I purchased three foot hoses, so now I will just cut them down to size to make it look a littler neater.

Looks good...I do have two suggestions...for a neater fit buy a couple of custom hoses and keep the 3'ers for emergency spares...

Also...you may not know it yet but you need a hydraulic side link (and a second set of remotes)...without being able to adjust the lateral pitch of a blade...it will follow what's there...makes working/changing crowns a breeze...

Thanks for the suggestions. I will either cut the 3 footers or just have new ones made up...not a big deal.

Yes...I would like to get working on a tilt cylinder, however, my next project is going to be a 3rd function for my grapple. I currently use the rear remotes for the grapple...but now with the top link, I have to free up the remotes for that.

Dont go too short on the hoses. You need to have full range of motion, without stressing the hoses, with ALL of your implements.

What ends did you use for the toplink? Those almost look like lower links, ones made to replace your lower two balls. All of the toplink ones I found when doing mine, were more rounded where they get welded to the cylinder. I was looking for one like you have, but couldnt find any other than the lowers.

I actually used bottom links for the top link and then used 7/8" to 3/4" bushings inside the balls to accommodate the smaller pin size.

Hello Kryton. I posted earlier this evening this exact question. I must have got off my tractor 15 times today while using the box blade to adjust the top link. I am seriously considering installing a hydraulic top link. Could you give me some advice on what size cylinder you bought? Did you go with the 3,000 PSI cylinder? I found one this evening on Surplus Center's website. Picture is below.

Any advice you can offer is greatly appreciated.
