Just some food for thought - May want to look closer at the super winch 4500

Line Pull: 4,500 lbs 178 Amps Motor Draw / 5.5 FPM (1.7 MPM) Line Speed

Warn 4500

PERFORMANCE DATA
Line Pull Line Speed FT./min(M/min.) Motor Current

4500 (2041) 2.9 (0.9) 318.0

I feel for the money you can't beat it. I always used Warns in the past but found these to work a bit better on my last 3 machines.

Not dipping into a brand war. You saying the super winch is 5.5 fpm and the Warn is 2.9 fpm?? On the same wrap? With the same load??

You saying the Super Winch is 178 amp draw and the Warn is 318 amp draw? On the same wrap? With the same load?

I was kind of scratching my head on that as well.

And now to (possibly) contribute something (and no, it's not a plug for SuperWinch; I just grabbed the first search engine hit that popped up- I seem to recall that maybe the first one like this I'd seen was a Warn, but can't recall):

Superwinch Winch2Go Series

I've got multiple vehicles. And, the ability to anchor this on to a tree would be nice: skid out some logs as well as unstick a vehicle).

I'm sure the manual requires the initial service at 100 miles or 20 hours whichever comes first and one of the things is the valve clearance check. Our trails close today but the next county has 2 more weeks and I think the boys plan on taking it for a ride tomorrow. 100 miles isn't very far. My wife mentioned the windshield also and she mentioned a roof also (you been talking to her)? As for the winch, did you go Honda or aftermarket (like Warn)?

I went with Warn wire winch (from amazon) when I had the pioneer 700 and used KFI winch mount. Great mount and costs little.
As for my pioneer 1000 went with Warn provantage syithetic # 4500. Never used scythetic before and am getting a snow plow for it. Hope the rope lasts through many plow lifts.

rmk700 I have the kfi se2500 winch for my 700 plowing chores and it worked well for two seasons before breaking the line. It was an easy fix to cut out rotten area and re-tie

Certainly don't mean this as Warns are bad or anything like that just mentioning the other options. Just showing the manufacture specs that they list for each. I have had great battery life with my Superwinches. Even pulled my MX5100 with brush hog out once (had to chain my Mule to a tree to do it however - LOL)

I have only owned 1 winch. Superwinch Tigershark 9500 on my jeep wrangler. My wife wants a winch for her jeep. I will probably go with super winch. I think that there are many good quality winches out there. Most are made in Taiwan or China. Some of the Warn's are made in china also. ...some are assembled in USA....but not made in USA. The USA made Warn and Superwinch will set you back quite a bit.

Didn't take it that way at all. Was just varifying apples to apples.

I'll check em out. Thanks for the info.

I've really enjoyed my Linhai Bighorn 28 LX the last few years. Its been my "legs" to get around our property and is a useful "tool" at times. As an off brand it lends itself to folks willing to perform their own service. Its price was attractive so I decided to risk it and its ideal for me. I don't run thru the woods at break neck speeds but when its muddy I have 4wd available and it works very well. They have some sort of relationship with Yamaha.

About the only negatives I have with mine is the parking brake is a wimp,no power steering and due to the under armor draining oil is a messy enterprise. Other'n that its been great.

My 9500 Warn on my buggy cost $1250. 65fpm line speed is expensive!!!

9000 Warn on my licensed Jeep was $1000. 50 fpm.

Yep, I can definitely see some Rhino heritage there.
