Gear or Hydrostatic Transmissions for Compact Utility Tractors?

While hydraulic motors are powerful in full sized machinery.....in smaller stuff its fairly inefficient

I wouldn't want gear drive on my lawn mowing tractor. I wouldn't want HST on my 95HP tractor.
