Crew,
I'd appreciate your advice. I'd like to buy a new Kubota tractor. Great incentives on the tractor and implements, plus 0% financing, currently available. But---If I bought it now, it would sit in the shed until the Spring. We are in Wisconsin. So my question is this--are the incentives and financing programs currently available a normal, year around thing? Or is this unusual, making it logical to buy now. If I can delay the purchase 7 months and start the warranty/payment clock in the Spring, that is a win. Unless the rebates and financing disappear. Appreciate input from those that have tracked these programs over time. Thanks!

The rebates and incentives change. Not even the dealers know when, but often things change from year to year. Right now is definitely a very attractive time to buy. I understand where you're at with waiting to start the clock, but personally, I'd buy now. Sitting for 7 months is no big deal. Make sure the fuel tank is full to the brim and add a dose of Power Service. Might want to remove the battery and keep it on a tender also.

Waiting is a roll of the dice. They may have the same thing in spring but maybe not. It seems 0% is a pretty regular thing but who knows what the coming election may do to interest rates. I've seen the same incentives remain but they may move them to another product line. Which model are you looking at?

My goal is the L4701HST with a FEL, bucket, box scraper and 6' cutter.

When Kubota claims 0%, check and make sure it is.
When I was looking last year, Kubota advertised 0% for 60 months, they would also give you a few thousand off if you paid cash.

For the life of me I just don't understand how that's free financing.

I got a quote for an L2501 this summer. It was just a ballpark quote over the phone, but the financed price was like 19,600 for the tractor and loader. He said the cash price would be only $300 less. Like I said, this was over the phone, so maybe a deeper cash discount can be had.

In most cases, you're right, that the financed price may be much higher, and the OP or anyone else shopping should absolutely do their due diligence in determining this.

Nice sized machine. I looked at the predecessor to that machine, the L4600 when I was shopping. I also got a quote for the MX 4700 (now the MX 4800). The MX has a little more loader capacity, is a little heavier, and has a beefier front axle. It ended up being a decent amount cheaper than the L. I don't know if that was a fluke, but you should definitely get a quote on one.

I got 0% two years ago. I believe that's been in place. For our equipment it's continued as long as the interest rate has been so low. With Clinton as President I don't think the interest rate will go up.

I bought a L5740 in May, 2011, for 0% and 60 months. I traded that tractor this month for a L6060 for 84 months 0%. Programs have changed up and down over that span but the general trend has been keeping at zero for some span, and vary cash rebates in lieu of zero. Some do better by taking the cash discount. Me, I keep track of the money Kubota loaned me that I then invested(otherwise I would have had to pay the money up front). Over the 60 month loan I earned approximately $6,750 give or take $100. At the time there was no cash incentive in lieu of zero percent so it was a no brainer, and my investments ave worked okay over those 5 years. Still it is a gamble.

In my case now I am also looking at upgrading my M135GX to a M7-171; however, i told my dealer I am not interested in dealing now only to watch the tractor sit in its shed over winter. Also, I have the last 2 harvests sitting in granaries waiting for crop prices to climb a bit which also determines the cash flow.
