Kubota incentives/always there or buy now?

Crew,
I'd appreciate your advice. I'd like to buy a new Kubota tractor. Great incentives on the tractor and implements, plus 0% financing, currently available. But---If I bought it now, it would sit in the shed until the Spring. We are in Wisconsin. So my question is this--are the incentives and financing programs currently available a normal, year around thing? ......

It sounds like no matter when you buy your tractor it's not going to be used in the winter. Consider no matter when you buy you'll get the same number of usable seasons warranty. Buy now your warranty starts in Winter ending 3 years later after the Fall season or buy in the Spring it'll end 3 years after the Winter season.

Although it's just as much a guess for them as us, two dealers I recently spoke with alluded to the best incentives of the year are *usually* in April. On the other hand I'd think hey may be more willing to cut their profit margin this time of the year and into Winter (especially stock units) and less so in April when they're swamped with business.

Money in the dealer's hand now is worth more to him than money in his hand next spring. Make him an offer he can't refuse. If you get two or three hundred more off now put it into an extended warranty if that is what concerns you.

IMO the real profit center on the 0% financing is the required insurance Kubota sells to get it. Don't get me wrong, it is great insurance, but it does add to the cost of the machine and the premiums go straight to Kubota. I used it when I bought the BX on 0% for 60 months and never filed a claim, so it was pure profit for Kubota.

When I was pricing my ZTR my dealer told me they get very little notice of what the incentives will be the following month. If you decide to wait what is available is anyone's guess. As far as insurance I simply added my ZTR to my farm policy for a lot less than the KTAC insurance.

Fed is supposed to be raising or has raised the prime rate a bit I heard. Not sure how or if that affects consumer loans like Kubota corp. but I think I would buy it now. Unless you have cash of course, that's probably the best deal anytime.

You are getting almost the same exact combo I recently purchased last month except I also got a 22 ft trailer. I used Kubota's 72 month financing with 10% down. I also got Kubota's KTAC insurance which is fairly expensive added into the loan--basically it cost me the 10% down. In my opinion, Kubota's profit is already built into the price when financing, so you are paying for it up front. If you pay cash, you can get a better price. I verified this by checking with multiple dealers who offered a better price for cash. That being said, it would make no sense to ever pay this loan off early unless you are just trying to get rid of the note. There are no guarantees with the financing deals, but since you have time, work your local dealer or shop around until you find a great deal, then purchase. Seems things always go up with every new year and every new model. Best of luck!

When we checked on cash price it was still cheaper including KTAC insurance to go with the 0% than other finance routes.

Perhaps 60% of Kubota tractor parts are made in Japan. That is influenced by the fact that all Kubota FELs and Backhoes are manufactured in Georgia.

The US dollar is at an eight month high relative to the Japanese yen. Kubota incentives probably will not get any better. The dollar may reverse direction and go down after the November election, possibly yielding lower Kubota incentives in 2017.

I think if it were me, I might pull the trigger now and enjoy getting to know it in some in the winter and get comfortable with it. Did I mention that patience is not my strong suit? :D

I know I would get some use even in the winter. You will find things to do with it I'm sure. Buying now might give you better buying and service experience as it is low season. On the other hand, I would guess the zero down/zero interest will be there in the spring. It has been a very popular sales strategy for years with Kubota.

In the past Kubota raised the base price every year. So waiting may cost you more even if finance/incentive deals are the same. By the time you make the deal and get tractor delivered your timeline will be a little shorter....
